Disney Treasure, DCL’s 6th ship, debuts in 2024

Which are? I'm going on my first Disney cruise on the Fantasy in October. So not up on the inside scoop of each ship.
It's subjective of course, but the Wish has a bit of an awkward layout in places. No running/walking track that fully circles the ship. The high-end boutique shops take up way too big of a footprint. The adults-only area is odd and pretty small. The lounges are spread out, which isn't terrible, but it lacks the adults-only district vibe the other ships do well.

I would take this ship over the Wish all day. I think it markets to the entire family (and adults without kids) much better than the princess theme.
As far as I can tell, we get one (non-specified) new show and Frozen to Coco plus bars. Kid spaces and pool deck are basically the same. It would entirely come down to itinerary and cost for me.

So far The Wish is back and forth between the Bahamas and Port Canaveral, almost like shakedown cruises for The Wish. It wouldn't surprise me if The Treasure did the same thing and The Wish branches out to other routes.

Makes sense. Put the newest big ship on the most popular, short itinerary, volume cruise.
It was confirmed today that Treasure will alternate 7-nt Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from PC. Wish stays 3/4 nt Bahamian.

December 21. To have been a fly on the wall of Iger's office to hear anyone that tried to push the date into 2025. I can imagine it's being aggressively pushed so we'll see what's not complete at opening.

On the plus side, I'm sure they'll make it a Merrytime cruise, the first and only, and that's pretty special. And the second cruise should cover New Years, so that will be nice as well. A nice consolation for folks that won't be able to book the maiden voyage.

That’s the one thing they didn’t say. I imagine once they have Wish 3, they’d consider having 3 ships sail from PC. They could have a ship offer 5 nt, 5 nt, and 4 nt cruises.
Don't quote me on this because a lot of this was agreed years ago and maybe things have changed post COVID but...

a) The deal with Fort Lauderdale was that they would have one ship sailing for the first few years increasing to a second ship (400,000 guests per annum increasing to 750,000... so one Dream then one Magic?)
b) Disney will also be sharing Terminal 10 at Port Canaveral when it has 2 ship departing on the same day, assuming this is once the Triton 3 arrives

If this is the case it could mean having 5 ships in Florida at some points of the year which feels like a lot but was what they have agreed to do.
