Disney to Reveal Ambitious Star Wars Plans

As I've mentioned before, and I may be in the minority, I wouldn't at all mind if these "ambitious" plans didn't include much from the existing six films. Blasphemy to some, yes, but having been a fan for about 37 years, I'm ready to see new stuff. Villians, ships, droids, tech, locales, and "aliens". Build with cutting edge, never before seen methods of story telling and it'll be just about perfect. Perhaps a nod to the history of the SW universe, you really can't leave out Lord Vader, but let's see the new guard. The one that hopefully will spawn another 40 years of Jedi vs Sith story telling.

I think everyone has their own preferences why having both doing good work and different styles is so great for a vacation to orlando. Choices are a wonderful thing.

I personally like a ride with more then getting In a coaster and being looped over and over again..., I want to be taken to a place by a good story and lost in the story and then tossed around.
Oh, like UtS:VotLM. Classic Disney storytelling. Masterful.

You are don't have the ability to comprehend a map, or being deliberately obfuscating. I am going with the latter.

You don't happen to work in Celebration Place do you?

No I am just like everyone else a fan but I am one that does not believe all is horrible in the land of disney and everything is right at Universal.

And pretty sure I am capable of reading a map blue prints to.... Maybe even some code as well.

Would it kill Disney to build something with balls?

They did.

I keep hearing people talk about the removal of echo lake to start Star Wars land there. This makes no sense as the area is too close to the old Hollywood theme. To walk down Hollywood boulevard and then immediately to your left is dagobah or tattooine would be super jarring thematically. Something has to be done to make a proper transition from classic Hollywood to Star Wars.

i thin echo needs to be removed so they can build the "other side" of the main blvd to block sight lines..i think 50s should dead end minus maybe a small path and you should have to walk all the way up to old idol theater than turn left and approach star wars area you could load three or four more stores right there and expand on the old hollywood theme do some dust ups like DCA had done to its main entry.

Na the indy show takes up a lot of room. I would think the easiest way is to just bring the ride from cali over here with a few updates.

Like I said the left side of the park is the best place to expand outward . They would just have to move a road around but there is plenty of room to actually move out.

this indy ride in a back corner....not a land of any kind just a well themed attraction.

Really easy to clone a big giant square box with next to no the theming and a bunch of screens. It is not apples to apples comparisons. Don't give them credit for something as simple as what they did.

Gove them credit for Potter as it is deserved not the other stuff.

give them credit for building world class rides....copys or not....would you bash disney if they brought rides from disney sea ect over here? at the end of day it takes money....

Krustyland is a carnival/amusement park... it's supposed to look like that lol. And unlike Dinoland USA or pre-2012 Paradise Pier, it doesn't look gaudy or obnoxious. It's colorful and has a lot of charm. Is it the best thing at Universal Orlando? Far from it. But it works for The Simpsons and livened up a previously dead section of the park.

More importantly, it was a low-key addition. Universal didn't bring out the Simpsons to have a big press release. They simply built it and opened it.

Would you rather have International Food and Film Festival, along with an empty waterfront by Simpsons Ride? It increased the appeal of the back section of USF, while providing more to do in the wake of Diagon Alley.

Transformers and Springfield weren't meant to be major... they're bonus additions to help out before Diagon. They were dead space before either of them opened. They increased park capacity without really replacing any attractions (Hercules and Xena wasn't all that major...). What more can you ask for?

this....x100 look at the amount of empty buildings and space in DHS alone....you wish they would build transformers bro....you wish,

Yet all week that ride had a wait of just under 30 minutes and that ride and every other major attraction at MK Epctot Hollywood studios and animal kingdom was over and hour if not 90 minutes durin the peak of the day.

Universal was so busy I was able to ride every ride they had in both parks and be out the door in less then 7 hours. That was with spending 3 of those in potter land.

hahahahaha so your argument is if i have to wait in more lines its busier? do you know FP lol.....do you know attraction count? and dont forget all the fanboys that do the go to disney once in a lifetime thing.

Exactly, plus Universal has more empty/dead/mediocre spaces I have a feeling will be better utilized by 2025

IOA
  1. Doom + the Carnage warehouse
  2. Front half of Toon Lagoon
  3. Trikes/Discovery Center
  4. Dragon Challenge (Rowling can't be that satisfied with all of that steel flying over the HE...)
  5. Lost Continent
  6. plot next to Cat
  7. Sneetch Beach
USF
  1. Shrek/Lucy
  2. Twister
  3. San Francisco
  4. Fear Factor Live
  5. small expansion space within Diagon Alley already
  6. PLOT NEXT TO MIB/SPRINGFIELD
  7. all of KidZone except E.T.
  8. Gardens of Allah (soon to be fixed)
  9. T2
I have a feeling a lot will be done over the next decade to fix up Universal Orlando's dead space!

I've yet to see the point of a new film for Soarin!

Its perfect the way it is, IMO. Why change & spend the money when there's so many better uses for it?

I enjoy it, but my 10 year old wasn't all that impressed and didn't care for it. She kept pointing out dust / dirt spots and wasn't immersed at all. She was never pulled into the "feel like I'm flying". Could just be the up-coming HD generation who's use to digital video.

EDIT: Just a digital projection upgrade alone could give this ride a lot of headroom for expansion. Implementation of multiple random scenarios ala Star Tours if attendance ever drops.

Heck a lot of that space will be re-imagined by 2017...

Good idea. We loved the original Star Tours and now that they have multiple scenarios its even better. Ill never understand why some people dont like it, or Soarin for that matter. I respect their opinions, but wife and I LOVE both and never get tired of them.

No matter how many times we have been on Soarin my wife gets so excited for that first ride each trip. Walking down the corridor she is like a little kid. All i have to do is play the Soarin music on my phone and she will start asking how many days until our next trip. lol

If they put th same ride in multiple MK I would not bash them. If they put the same ride with the just a different face Spider-Man and transformers everyone in here would be calling them out for it. It is funny though universal does this and they are the best. Blows my mind
