DHS Disney to Reveal Ambitious Star Wars Plans

As a huge SW fan, not a TDO apologist I would rather they get it right than slap it together like they did Frozen.

And I'm saying they've been dragging their feet for years and years and years.

I have zero faith in Glendale's ability to "get it right"…

As far as "TDO"? That doesn't exist anymore. We've been over this many times. The good folks that run the Walt Disney World resort have zero input whatsoever on expansions anymore. That's all decided much higher up the food chain… In conference rooms in Glendale and Anaheim.

I'd like to be pleasantly surprised but I'm pretty sure that Orlando was going to get the short end of the stick here…

Been pretty effective so far. Iger's Yatch is dope.
I wonder what percentage of fans feel "alienated." Better yet, I wonder how many people that walk through Animal Kingdom's front gates have any clue that Avatar is being built, let alone how long it's taking. I'd be willing to bet it's less than 1% if you exclude cast members. Most guests and Disney fans aren't like us. They don't spend free time on message boards tracking a project from blue sky to grand opening.

I'll take that bet

Maybe. But that doesn't make it right.

They learned from their mistakes with Avatar... Start construction, then announce is the order of the day not announce, wait for Imagineering, budget, construction starts four years later.

D**ned if they do, d**ned if they don't.
Your argument would be more reasonable if there were construction walls up and clearing taking place. That doesn't even require concept art, but we'd be happy knowing work has begun. Remember the "Watch this SPACE for a future development" sign on the construction wall outside Mission Space before they were ready to announce but we're already clearing Horizons? It got us hella excited around here. A black construction wall with stars and "A Long Time Ago..." blocking some tractors would make folks happy.

Instead, lots of attractions have closed but the only work occurring involves the Hat. Stalling is what's going on. As though DHS has that luxury.

Yes the ONLY things being built at DHS are construction walls.

That was actually a pretty fun special and far superior to the Marvel one they did. Plus you know, the Phineas and Ferb special isn't canon, so why does this bug you so much?

To be honest I rather liked it, But we've heard so much BRAVO-SIERRA from TWDC about things like 'Hyperspace Hoopla' cheapen the Star Wars brand and experience, And then TWDC puts out a non-canon cartoon feature, Just seems to be the ultimate in hypocrisy and yet another exercise in 'Brand Synergy'.

Because while HH was among the ultimate non-canon activity let's face it it was FUN. TWDC seems to be intent on sucking the FUN out of park experiences these days.

And WHO runs the show, That's right TWDC one would think that they approved that act which was indeed in extremely bad taste but the costuming etc was approved by the executives in charge.

Slightly OT, but when can we expect the Pixar Place expansion news? Would it coincide with Star Wars news or would it come out before/after? I read last year where some people felt that announcement was imminent, yet here we are months later and nothing. Could we be hearing something any day or is there a good guesstimate on a date?
