If it was cancelled tomorrow there probably wouldn't be an announcement, that's the way Disney does things. If it does get cancelled it will likely never be mentioned by Disney again with the hope that people will forget the idea ever existed.

As I was leaving work, I'm a photographer for a local news station, a fellow photographer was just getting back from the press event. I scanned the press release and the biggest thing I saw was the additions to the F! Stadium. I am sure there was other stuff and the press release is in every major fan sites inbox right now we will all know more within hours.

This my problem with avatar, I agree avatar is about conservation, but how can you base theme park attractions based on a movie that basically says the majority of humans are violent,greedy and warmongering. The only humans that are shown in a positive light are the scientists,which all but 2 dies and 1 of them leaves his human form behind. Does Disney gloss over this and show only the side of the aliens or will there be a military side too. I'd rather have not support a film or theme park that paints the majority of humans in this light. You can't base a franchise on only visuals the prequels prove that.

With a 1000 more seats for Fantasmic then they can cut back to only one show per week.

Well, we don't have all the details yet but the news is basically Fantasmic Expansion and Avatar Delay (hence the Avatar discussion) ... but yes maybe we should take this elsewhere. Sorry for adding to the drift.

Yea, well neither is another "Avatar sucks!"/"No it doesn't!" shouting match that already has like 50 threads dedicated to it.
At least the Fantasmic news could mean other things, like DHS is getting a new Fantasmic show, or is preparing for an influx of guests due to expansion.

Possibly. I honestly have no idea. But with all the DHS rumors going on, I think there's more to this than "Fantasmic is getting more seats".
This is terrible news, I was so hoping for that monorail expansion announcement. Dang it!
