Disney Stuff you like that's NOT represented in the parks?

If you like Mickey Mouse, Pooh Bear, or the Princesses, then you are in LUCK, because WDW is wall-to-wall with those characters.

Some IPs, though, get no love. No rides, no character meets, little to no merchandise, and/ or little easter eggs and subtle nods (Texas John Slaughter gets a nod, if you look close enough).

So, when you visit WDW, what absence causes YOU a pang of regret?

I have to disagree with you on Winnie the Pooh. With the exception of the ride and the tiny little plush filled gift shop.....he (and the rest of the 100 Acre wood gang) are very poorly represented on the rest of the property. There is zero adult merch and is extremely limited to where anything Pooh is sold.

This is really what I was considering, retain the "serious" nature of the pavilion and it's message while at the same time instilling a sense of adventure, discovery and science with a not so heavy handed dose of fantasy. A scale walk through of the Nautilus perhaps. I'd much rather see a depiction of that iconic sub plastered on the exterior other than the cartoon fest there now.

Absolutely agree with you here.
Makes complete sense, and *fits* the Seas Pavlion and it*s mission perfectly.

It would have been epic if the designers went this route with a 20K theme instead of taking the easy marketing potential road.
Yes, i realize that when you pitch these days your concept has to answer to a lot more people/departments then previously.
The Marketing Department is one of the big hurdles a project has to clear before going anywhere off the paper.
So it is easy to see and understand in some respects why the Pavilion was turned into what it is today .

The same could be said about Disneyland*s Submarine Voyage.
Instead of taking the *cool route* it instead became yet another character overly.
Unfortunately the marketing pull and *synergy* potential of the Pixar fishies trumped everything else that was being considered.
A pity because some of those other concepts/overlays were far more interesting, in my opinion.

It is too bad that we seem to have lost the *Disney* that once found marketing potential in just building amazing, unique, and original Attractions without relying on a current trended tie-in.
A 20K themed experience at The Seas would have been just that - amazing and unique - if done right with a appropriate budget and smart design enhancements.

Think Toyko DisneySeas *right*...!

Exactly. What's more, the nature of 20k creates a limitless and near universal appeal. Pixars Nemo is confined to its design as a family film. Great story, very well done, but not the format I would've used to inspire future generations to explore and discover the "Living Seas".

On its own, The Seas with Captain Nemo and Friends would be a more cohesive and immersive attraction than what's there now. However, I wouldn't want that to happen. That would be the beginning of Epcot going the way of Tomorrowland. Remember Tomorrowland was actually once meant to show a plausible future. "Rocket to the Moon" was foreseeable but not yet a reality when Disneyland's Tomorrowland first opened. Since Tomorrowland couldn't stay ahead of the real future, it evolved into a retrofuturistic theme. Epcot is suffering the same problem. I wouldn't want to see the same solution. Keep Tomorrowland for the fanciful science fiction, and Epcot for futurism.

This is something I HATE about Disney.

My favorites are Darkwing Duck, Ducktales, Robin Hood, Roger Rabbit, Jungle Book, and Aladdin. While Aladdin has meet n greets and a spinner, that's it? Really? What about Jungle Book? Nothing but the occasional Baloo and Louie walkarounds. Robin Hood? Ducktales? Darkwing? Roger Rabbit? NOTHING.

If you aren't addicted to Princesses, the Fab Five, Or Pirates, you're pretty much out of luck.

Well we could bring up the fact that King Louie was (never) in the Jungle Cruise but we won't bring that up . I totally agree though. Ducktales was amaaaazing.

You know, if an attraction or show or even a themed bathroom is out of the question, perhaps they could introduce a line of collectibles that represents the older and lesser known Disney properties. If this has been done, I apologize, I wasn't aware. Maybe a line of nice figurines or character glasses? Nothing cheap or plastic, and not aimed towards small children, like a toy. A quality keepsake that you can proudly display at home or at the office. I'd gladly display a nice 20k Nautilus next to a model of Captain Hooks pirate ship.

sleepy hollow ride would be awesome in liberty square.

Ever since I was a little girl, thanks to my parents, I have collected ceramic Disney figurines. They are very hard to come by and each time I go to Disney, I am disappointed by the lack of this type of merchandise in the parks. I usually have to browse on Ebay for them now.

One thing I will never understand is why there isn't a Lion King ride or ANYTHING The Jungle Book at Animal Kingdom.
I think they should take the Circle of Life video from EPCOT and move it to AK (Conservation Station), then bring in a Wall-E video to take its place in the Land. Seems to be a better fit to me IMHO

The Rescuers for sure and even though we get Donald and Uncle Scrooge, an actual overall Duck Tails (woooooooo) showing maybe?

Pocahontas, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan, and Tarzan are the biggest ones that come to mind for me. All of these shows and characters used to have pretty good coverage throughout WDW but have slowly disappeared. You can only meet Mulan at Epcot, Pocahontas at DAK, and then the two appear in Fantasmic but that's it. It's a shame that the latter half of the films from the Disney Renaissance era are ignored.

Yes agree!!!! Tarzan needs a home in AK, along with the Jungle Book. Neither are represented. Also Im going to say Pinocchio for elsewhere, I know he appears as a character and has the village haus, but there is not an ounce of merch or anything else. except for a few alice things they have done away with the classic movie characters. its way over saturated with princess and preschool toys.
