I noticed the 10 or 12 beautifully framed classic Magic Kingdom attraction posters missing from the Art of Disney Store above the cash registers and in its place an empty wall.

Who comes up with these ideas of taking beautiful touches and replacing them with nothing?
.

It's a store, maybe the posters had been sold? Or the display prints removed as there are no more prints from the run to sell. Hopefully they will fill the empty wall space soon with another print for sale.

Thank you sir. You were an inspiration.

But for La Nouba you used to have to walk all the way from the bus stop at the marketplace.

At lead the new bus stops are in the middle of the area.
you used to be able to walk from the busstop by pleasure island

I think that by itself is kinda a privilege.
Example, there are people who CANNOT take a vacation unless a) kids are out of school b) their workplace finally gives them time free and c) they have money.
Well then I guess we are all privileged on this board and any other board that discusses vacations. However, I still think it is my right to spend my time on my vacation in any way I want. After all, I am using money I earned. So deciding the the resort transportation and the water taxis take up too much of my vacation time, is my choice.
I visit the Disney theme parks because they are a unique experience. But DS is just another shopping mall and I can visit those anywhere.

These posters weren't in the poster buying/ print on demand area. They were displayed for maybe 15 years as what COULD be purchased on demand but equally as store decor.

I've never known these actual pieces to be for sale. They were displayed at very high ceiling level and remained pretty much the same since the early 2000's.

Just gone all at once and replaced with dry wall repair and paint. Does anyone know why?

It only added charm and memories to the shoppe. What's the most track lighting could run TDO?

Maybe they are being replaced? Since they were there for 15 years? Chill. There are so many other issues at WDW to take umbrage with. A store changing up their sales display isn't worth worrying over.

Yeah, pretty much. Deciding what transportation you're going to take at a luxury vacation destination is very much a First World Problem. Some people have to decide if they'll spend their budget for the month on food, clothes, or medicine, because they can't cover all three.

Dude. This shtick of yours is EXHAUSTING.

Not for the last two years.

Also the bus had to queue up to enter and exit the tiny marketplace stop, meaning it wasn't really much quicker to stay on the bus compared to walking anyway.

xdan0920, If my observation and question on a discussion board is truly EXHAUSTING you than you are free to ignore me or better yet get some exercise and perhaps an oxygen tank on wheels. I'm certain I'm the least of your troubles. I can guarantee you that.

Chill and dude? Are you 14? Shouldn't you be getting ready to skip school right about now.

The ones at EPCOT's Art of Disney were for sale, I asked but the 2K pricetag was a bit steep, I probably would have bought one if the price had been $1200 or so which was closer to the market value for the poster, Obviously provenance at Disney would not be an issue but art prints are not worth 2x the market price just because Disney is selling them.

Come to think of it, and I don't mean to get political, but what would happen with crowds at Disney if the minimum wage is raised to 15 dollars?

Nothing or a decline because the price of goods and services would increase to compensate for the increase in wages - which would be across the board because all other wages would need to be raised proportionately, The end result would probably be mass unemployment as the marginal value of labor would be eliminated in many cases.

FDR tried this same stunt back in the 30's and the result was mass unemployment because the labor was more expensive than the profit potential in the goods and services produced.

Personally I'm not a fan of a 'minimum' wage but because of abusive employers it's necessary, I'm more in favor of an employer clawback where the government recovers it's costs + penalty if more than say 10% of it's employees are on public assistance programs. Because using public assistance to boost your employees wages to a livable level is wrong on so many levels.

HOB at DTD in California is closed. They are relocating to Garden Walk. I'm sure the rent is a lot more appealing.
There's rumors that HOB is looking to leave after their contract ends in 2019 in Orlando, too.

Still doesn't make what I said untrue.

The eateries are certainly doing well. There was a line out the door for D-Luxe Burger when I was there, a mob inside the pizza place, a 15-minute wait for tables at the Irish pub, and a line outside Morimoto. And that was on a Wednesday night. I have to say that everything I had at Morimoto Street Food was fantastic (especially the addictive ribs) and a serving of any poutine from The Daily Poutine is a really tasty hearty meal.

They are wanting to move to the I-Drive area for the same reason as to why the left DtD@DLR. Pressure from LiveNation to showcase acts that Disney doesn't want.

Next Big Thing- House of Blues should be the busiest due to being at the most popular tourist destination of the world.

The restaurant is one thing but the concerts that roll thru are entirely different. The most visited HOB does not mean biggest or best venue for shows.

I don't ever remember attacking House of Blues or your need to affirm that when it was never challenged. I like House of Blues.

I remember saying that the Marketplace/WORLD of Disney side as a whole always seems busier than the West end.

I believe that's why the opened the first new garage towards West end, to urge crowds in the less visited direction. I could be wrong.

Like I said, they are looking to move when their contract is up in 2019. I'm all for the move as HOB makes for a great concert experience for one, but i'm also hoping if it ends up being much more independent, they'll being club nights back to their Orlando venue, wherever that may be, once it moves.

Such a shame Disney had to put a stop to that, although I get why (It was mostly College Program kids that went, meaning there were a bunch of people who either called out of work or showed up hung over the next day, leaving Disney SOL).

I wasn't even talking about HOB Orlando, so I wasn't arguing with you.

But I will bet that the rents at both DS and DTD make it difficult for tenants to make a decent profit. I doubt HOB moved because their acts were restricted, it wouldn't matter to them as long as they profited.
