Disney Springs development to bring massive expansion to Buena Vista Drive

I'm a little surprised the walkway isn't covered. Rain isn't fun and that could be a long hot walk for the guests/CMs that Wil be using it.

I guess it would need more lighting if it is covered as the slightest cloud cover and you would need lights on. If it is open roofed then the highway lighting should be sufficient at night and the sun bright enough even through cloud.

I took this ramp today at around 5:30pm on my way home from orlando. Exit 68 (SR535) was backed up all the way off the off ramp as usual as I passed it. It took me 3 minutes to get the 5th floor of the garage which included waiting for the stop light. When I exited the garage, which I did pretty much immediately after I got there, I drove past traffic backed up on Northbound Buena Vista drive all the way past Backstage Lane. This new exit is Awesome! I just wish i could use it coming from tampa as I usually am.

This exit looks great. I drove to Disney Springs from I4 a couple of days before this ramp opened. What a mess! Looking forward to it on my next trip.

Is there a plan to have an exit ramp directly to the parking garage on the eastbound lanes of I-4?

Cool to see that the off ramp is done. Couple of questions:

1. I see all traffic from the ramp to the deck is being sent to level 5. Do we expect this to be the general rule or will this change based on traffic patterns?

2. Are I seeing this right, that the overhead signs at the end of the overpass ("Surface Parking" and "Orange Garage") are video displays? What else would these signs show? Maybe if the deck is full or something?

The ramp provides access to 3, 4 and 5 - which of those are available depends on operations at the time. I would expect to see this vary depending on day and time.

Yes they are video displays. Not sure what will be displayed there, but it makes it a very flexible system.

It switched to garage full one evening and directed you to surface lots.

I haven't read the whole thread so excuse me if this has already been answered. Does anyone know if they are going to make the parking garage a bit less hideous looking. I was hoping that they would put maybe some sort of artwork on the outside around it. I know it is a parking garage but it looks like any other you would see at any mall. I was hoping it would be "Disneyfied", if you know what I mean. I don't mean having paintings or metal sculptures of Mickey or Minnie but just something "pretty".

It will not have a "Disney" look to it as not many buildings in DTD have ever had that look. It will be much better when the hanging foliage grows in though.

Once the planting is done in that corner section it should look better.
But it will never be "Disney-fied" like the All-Star resorts, that look is a bit too 90s. They are going for a combination of modern (steel, sharp edges and glass) style with some Victorian accents in the Town Center area I think.

I saw plant testing a while back (from pictures on here), but have never seen those plants in person or beyond more than a couple. I'm hoping they're just waiting until the major construction is done as I really think they need some green on them.

There's visible piping in every slot, so I bet they're waiting for construction dust from the east to die down.
