Between Paradiso 37 and The Hangar is this new water transportation pier for The Landing area, still under construction. When completed, the floating dock seen here will be moved to the new pier. There will then be three water transportation docks for Disney Springs: the existing dock at West Side, the existing dock at Marketplace, and this new dock for The Landing area. (Information from a cast member.)

The new Lego sculpture was installed this week at the side entrance to the Lego building. The construction walls are still in place. This Lego sculpture overlooks the entrance to the Marketplace Causeway.

I haven't seen this reported anywhere else. The following are new places to be announced in DS after the opening of The Boathouse:

  • Erwin Pearl – offers a fine selection of enamel, precious, and semi-precious fashion jewelry marked by style, creativity, and outstanding quality.
  • Joffrey’s Tea – specializing in teas (iced or hot) featuring custom blends, accessories, and packaged teas.
  • Vivoli Gelateria – serving panini sandwiches, espresso drinks, and expertly crafted gelato made with fresh, seasonal ingredients.

Photo update as of Sunday, Apr 12.

Update to the water taxi transportation dock at The Landing. Supports for the dock roof, similar to the dock between the Marketplace and Saratoga Springs, are in place.

Photo update as of Sunday, April 19. The east side parking garage pillars, with elevator shaft.

The river of Disney Springs is in the foreground in the below photo. Along the banks of the river, a large building is taking shape, with the foundation very near the river boundary. The green wall is T-Rex Café.

Photo update as of Thursday, April 30.
Part of the construction wall between Raglan Road and Morimoto Asia that required guests to enter Raglan Road from the opposite side has been removed. You can now enter the outdoor area of Raglan Road from the plaza in front of Erwin Pearl. The outdoor stage is here, with music most nights. The main entrance to Raglan Road is still through the passage on the opposite side. The outdoor bar is behind the photographer.

Photo update as of Thursday, April 30. Miscellaneous photo updates at Disney Springs.

The construction wall at the rear of Harley Davidson has been removed, revealing a large tree in a planter box. The water fountain plaza will soon be the main entrance to West Side again when the pedestrian access building to the West Side garage opens on Monday, May 4.

The Hangar bar between Paradiso 37 and The Boathouse is getting a shingle roof.

Three new friezes (ornamental architectural detail) have been added to building walls at The Landing. At the yet-to-be-named corner store opposite The Boathouse, there are two friezes on the upper walls on either side of the door. See below photos, in red-brown color.

IMG_5358.JPG

The frieze on the left side shows the "Empress Lilly" and workmen moving cargo. Is this a sign of things to come, or a nod to the past?

IMG_5356.JPG

The frieze on the right side shows people entering a boat.

IMG_5357.JPG

The third frieze is behind construction walls between Erwin Pearl and Morimoto Asia. The picture shows aircraft mechanics working on a propeller engine. Perhaps a reference to the upcoming Hangar bar across the plaza.

The Lego sculpture display outside the Lego store is completed and re-oriented towards the shaded seating plaza.

The west wall of The World of Disney store (the princess area) has a red curtain installed to hide construction in that area. This is near the existing restrooms that previously had an outside entrance. Perhaps a new entrance to the store? In the below photo, restrooms are on the extreme left, existing store entrance to the right.

Photo update as of Thursday, April 30. Most photos have been taken from the interior of Disney Springs. Here is a photo taken from Buena Vista Drive at the intersection of the Hess gas station and parking lots. The new buildings on either side of the road appear to frame a grand entrance to Disney Springs.

The river is really really shallow, woulda been cool if they made it deep enough to offer a disney springs river kayaking or tubing excursion experience.

and not adding outdoor riverside seating to trex seems like a missed opportunity, not adding something similar to the lava bar over at rainforest to trex
