I get withdrawl symptoms. The longer I go between trips, the worse it gets. It's been a year, and I'm starting to itch.

Hello everyone, My name is Deb and, I too, am a Disneyaholic. (Although I have no intention of changing this fact just to fit in with the rest of the people around me!)
I have finally found my people! I found this site about a month ago, and have been reading the forums obsessively ever since! I thought there was something wrong with me but now I can plainly see that I am fine it's just all of them! (The people who don't get it!) It's so refeshing to know that I am not alone- Thank you all so very much for helping me come to grips with my Disney Sickness. I think I'll be Ok now!

BTW, I haven't been to WDW since last May, and seem to be developing migranes and blurred vision. Oh, wait a minute, I wonder if that could be because I haven't left this website in days!!!

Hi my name is Sandra:wave: and I am also a Disney addict, or as my friends like to call me a "Disney freak" . Thank goodness I married a Disney addict. We try and go down at least 2-3 times a year.

My first trip was 1976, and so was my husband's...but he stayed at the Contemporary with his family. (my family stayed in Kissimee).

It is the greatest place on earth...and I CAN"T STOP THINKING ABOUT IT TOO !

Think I got the sickenss. Got this rash. Circular with two other semicircular areas attached to it. Saw it on a cow down in Disney a few years back and I think I caught it there. Seems to go away in the bright Florida sunlight for some reason. Doctor's prescribing another treatment sometime in July. :sohappy:

There's not a day that goes by that I don't wish that I was on WDW property. It really doesnt' matter if I'm on an attraction, hanging out at one of the resorts, brousing around Downtown Disney or Disney's Boardwalk, or my favorite- just walking those amazing parks.

I am also a Disney addict. Unfortunately my husband does not feel the same way as I do. Sadly I have not been there for several years. I used to go with my mom every year from the time I was 17. She will be getting knee replacement surgery in April, so if all goes well hopefully we will be walking the parks in the near future. Or I guess I will have to wait till my daughter is old enough to go. I love visiting this site to catch up on what is going on in the world.

I am a Disney addict I would go every day if I wasn't 1,250 miles away. I will be going again at the end of May and it's all my oldest daughter and I talk about. She hasn't gone with us in about three years but she went to Disney for her honeymoon last June. I want to go at least twice this year. Disney just makes us happy

My name is Melody and I am a Disney addict. We average about one weekend a month at WDW and we still can't get enough. I can't wait to retire and move to Orlando. That way I can work part-time at WDW and go as often as I want. Does this seem strange to retire and want to go back to work? Twenty- two years and counting. I would move in if they would let me, but unfortunately I have to work so I can afford to go back to WDW. It is only March 4th and we already have plans to go next weekend. After all it's been two weeks since the last time I was there............

its been 7 weeks since my last trip to wdw, but im going next tuesday for 2 nights :)

i had not been to wdw at all till 3 years after i moved down to florida from long island. i had once been to DL over 30 years ago, my only memory being madame leota's head in the haunted mansion.

from the first time i stepped through the gates and under the disneyworld railroad, i was entranced.

ive seen, and have all the disney travel chanel progs on disc, i tend to watch disney channel alot, and i have a ipod, which is 4/5s loaded with disney tunes that i listen to whilst driving around making deliveries.

i just wish theyd put out house of mouse, season by season, on dvd :)

I, too, am a Disney Addict. I downloaded the DINOSAUR! sountrack and burned it on a CD for my own personal enjoyment (I set up my remote control Time Rover on a miniature version of the track, complete with fake leaves and blacklight). The plans for the ride are on my computer, as are the plans for Haunted Mansion. I have all the ride layouts memorized. I go to Disneyland and Disney World every year. I know all the mechanics of all the rides. I spend hours designing attractions that will never be built and redesigning the mediocre ones for fun.
To sum up all of the above in one sentence: I need help.

Hi. My name is Carl, and I'm a Disney addict.

My affliction is relatively young. Although I had been to WDW 4-5 times as a child or teen, I didn't become addicted until about 18 months ago, when I went back to WDW for the first time in 17 years. It hit me as soon as I started walking down Main Street USA on Sept. 9, 2003 (about 5pm). And I've been hooked ever since. I've been about 6 times since then, including just 5 weeks ago - I'm ready to go again! Maybe I'll go for a day in a couple weeks, just to get a fix. Kinda do-able since I only live 223 miles away (yes, I've clocked it :) from my home to TTC). Disney has crept into my life to the point that I've gotten an AP and the DDE, I have a WDC stock certificate hanging on my office wall (next to one for Pixar), I have gotten just about every Disney animated movie available on DVD as well as other Disney movies, I have plans to decorate my master bathroom similar to the Haunted Mansion (and maybe a couple other rooms to other themes), and I've collected enough CDs to put together the Wilderness Lodge lobby soundtrack. Also my best friends and co-workers either tell me they get tired of hearing me talk about Disney stuff, or they ask me for advice on planning their own trips to WDW.

OK, now who's gonna be my sponsor ??

Hello, my name is Loren and I am a Disney addict. I am so glad to be able to share my "illness" with all of you. We live 20 minutes from DL, but nothing compares to seeing Spaceship Earth from your airplane and getting your first "ride" at MCO. My daughter will be 6 in two weeks and May will be her sixth trip. (We just want our children to have what we didn't.) My first trip was my honeymoon in '94, and we have been back 6 times, 7 if you count this coming May. I just wish that I could stop dreaming about the food. I swear to God if I wake up one more time and realize that I didn't just eat fettuccine alfredo (the best in the universe) and a dessert sampler-- I am going to cry. Oh well, it is only 68 more days.......

I have the affliction but I can not seem to get my wife quite as excited about it. I've been probably 15+ times, having grown up in Florida, so it's been a long time in the making. Staying onsite really opened my eyes to the overall complexity and enjoyability (I just made up that word :) ) of Disney as a whole. Any suggestions on how to turn my wife to the "dark" side would be appreciated .. haha

Victoria

Not old, just vintage.
Hello, my name is Victoria and I am a Disney Addict....and I am completely okay with that. The onset of my illness occurred in 1991 when i was 6 years old and i have been there 16 times since. I am an Annual Passholder from NJ...nothing strange there though...theres lots of us out there. I cannot rememeber the last time i read a book that wasnt Disney related (currently Disney War). So what if i decorated several rooms in my house in total Disney theme ( a princess themed master bathroom and a Mickey/Minnie themed dining room, working on a Disney Kitchen) My friends call it the House of Mouse. I have that familiar tri-circled shape tattooed on me...and I intend to only marry a man who can fully accept and appreciate my disease. Some people go to a bar on their 21st birthday...i am going to Disney. I am going to gladly pass my affliction on to my children. Just the other day I realized i could wear a different Disney themed garment every day for 63 days without repeating anything...that doesnt include jewelry...What is even stranger is that i actually counted my Disney clothes. But all of this is normal...it is everyone else who has problems. Glad to have this support group....which i check in with atleast 3 times a day.

My wife came from a large family that could not afford to go to Disney, though she and her brothers and sisters begged to go all the time. By the time one of her older siblings went as an adult (~30 yrs old), he could not enjoy it for what it was. I figure that all those years of wanting made him bitter.

Later, I went with my wife on our honeymoon, and while we had a great time, I could sense that she had a less magical time than me. Perhaps it's because I had been there 4 times before, and she (a first-timer) felt she was getting "leftover crumbs." I'm sure it must get annoying to hear your spouse talking about how "this ride used to be like this" or "wow, I never saw that there before!"

It's been a couple of years since that trip, and I think she must have gotten over it, because she suggested we go again (!) this year, this time with our new baby. I could not have been more happy when I heard that.

So, while my wife may never know the experience of being at Disney as a child, she will at least get to enjoy seeing it through the eyes of her daughter. I cannot wait!
