Disney should use the USCIS building as office space and don't finish the new building next to Carsland. Save some bucks. Use the land for more park space.

I could be wrong, but I think the offices being built behind Cars Land are for positions who need to be on property (i.e. Ops management, Ops Training specialists)

This is correct. Much of DCA's management is in temporary trailers and cheaply built office buildings, while Disneyland Ops has fully furnished backstage buildings to work out of.

So when is the Eastern Gateway happening @Darkbeer1 ? 2027?

Well, the book has to be re-written. Once Disney knows when, and how they will reopen, they will look at everything.

There might be incentives for construction on the Federal, State and/or Local levels to get folks back to work, and money flowing into the economy, and Disney might want to take advantage of them. The project can be quickly designed using prior plans, and the city council will want to see money flowing, no matter who the city council is.

We all know at sometime in the future, Disney will need the parking spaces, and the land the current transportation hub is sitting on.

So we shall see.

Good point. Building it would pump some money back into Anaheim. Thinking of how the utilize the transportation hub land for DCA is fascinating. I can't think of a shoe In IP for DCA, I don't think they need to expand Marvel Land and its hard for me to see them freshening up the Hollywood backlot.

Its amazing, all it takes is for an economic downturn due to a pandemic for everyone to change their tune. I bet Disney could even dust off the same exact plans with no changes and you won't hear one peep out of the Harbor businesses due to them needing guests coming in.

I'm not sure having an eastern gateway will bring people to the resort.

It in itself won't but Disney adding more area to the park will. That is part of the whole point of the EGW project, add to the footprint of the parks by moving the transportation hub from the Harbor side of the Esplande to the EGW.

Its what they are currently waiting on to fix the Hollywood Pictures backlot section of the park. That corner features a placeholder 3D show, a rethemed dark ride, an empty Millionare soundstage, an empty 5 & Dine building. Add a chunk of the transportation hub and you have a good sized plot of land to raze and do something new with.

Now that Avengers Campus is finished (to our knowledge) Im wondering about this project and what they would potentially put in Hollywoodland considering they only do IP attractions. Not sure trust them to do anything that fits the current theme.

They could always do an expansion for Avengers Campus.

I would hate to lose the animation pavilion and the appropriately themed Red Car route, but unless they add an anchor attraction to the area this is probably the most likely route they'll take. Thought I couldn't say what exactly, I'm certain there are better uses for it.

Great point. But I think anything that was once planned for this area pre-Covid is now dead as a doornail.

Just about anything would be an improvement over what's currently there.

And it's been that way since 2001. It's a barren concrete wasteland back there, livened up only by cheap seasonal entertainment (Summer Of Heroes!) or cheap free daily entertainment from a spangly-sparkly dance troupe from suburban Phoenix. Listen to the suburban moms go Wooooo! That's the true sign of quality entertainment you paid $150 to see.

Come on you guys, Wooooo! You paid $150 to see this. Wooooo!
