Disney scents...

Sorry to make this a little off-topic, but there was a scent that I wanted to take home--the smell in the Christmas store in DTD. It is just the perfect "smell of Christmas". I mean, you smell it and say "ahhh... Christmas". Anyway, I asked about it and they told me that they don't sell it there, it's just something that they put in the air conditioning system.

I think the thing that I tend to get is not so much a smell (though that could be involved to an extent), but a feel. There are certain days where I walk outside and the weather is just right (humidity, temp, breeze?, smell?)... if I close my eyes, I could be standing right under Spaceship Earth. I love that feeling...

Also, our corporate office in Dallas (which I rarely visit) is SO Epcot. It's got curvy stainless steel and translucent glass, clean lines, the smell of technology. I feel like I could walk out the front door and be standing in Futureworld.

There have been numerous times that I have walked into an office building during the summer in Chicago and remarked aloud: "This place smells like the Contemporary!"

I've had other times that this has occurred walking outdoors breathing in the smell that hits you when you walk into Adventure land. Oh, what a heavenly smell.

There have been numerous other times in which someone in my family has remarked: "This smells like [insert disney place]" in which the entire family then begins breathing deeply, trying to take in that oh-so-heavenly Disney-like smell.

Oh how the memories come back! :sohappy:

Our mall used to have a restaurant called "Kahunaville" (which was pretty much just like the Rainforest Cafe), and it had a large waterfall which smelled exactly like the water in PotC. I used to find every excuse I could to get up from my seat and walk past it just so I could smell it XD

This thread is great - at least I know I'm not the only one!:animwink:

Ok, here's mine (you're going to think I'm nuts for this one)...

Hawaiian Tropic Sunscreen - that coconut smell brings me back everytime! Well, where we come from, the sunscreen doesn't get taken out that often. So the only time I've ever used sunscreen in any regularity is at Disney! I've been at the park/playground with my kids and I whip out the Hawaiian Tropic to put it on. Then I get a whiff of it and I sit there sniffing the bottle of sunscreen with my eyes closed, ahhhhh - I get all kinds of crazy looks from other moms!:p

this just occured in my home about 10 minutes ago.

my husband didn't tell me he put a load in the washer 2 days ago, so when I opened it today, it had that wet clothes that have been sitting for 2 days smell... which I found to be very similar to SSE. (not sure if it still smells the same since the refurbishment). Kinda gross I know, but it made me for 1 second feel like I was in WDW lol.

And don't worry, I re-washed them all lol.

I have a hair product that smells like the Main Street Confectionary. When I'm not using it, I sometimes give a little spray into the air and go ahhhhhh.

Oh tell me what the product is because I love the Confectionary, especially the chocolate covered strawberries. That is the first place I go as soon as I walk into the magic kingdom. Yummmm my mouth is watering just thinking of them.

Ok so this is strange but the other day i had the smell of Rome buring from SSE stuck in my nose for hours. I just kept smelling it, i was home and there was nothing causing the smell, it was strange, i swear it was a ghost. Also sometimes when i work (restaurant) and i have to fill the ice bin, i get a whiff of Potc, that musty kinda chloriney smell i love it,:sohappy: i think it's the combination of the cold ice, and the plastic bin.
