Disney Ring Tones?

I want to get the chime from Star Tours as my ring tone but I can't find it on iTunes and I don't know what other website to trust (i.e. the ones that automatically charge you month to month and are a headache to cancel...).

Does anyone have any tips? Other ring tones from the parks would be fun too, especially non-obvious ones that make me think of WDW (Soarin' queue music, commentary from various rides, etc)

If you are using an Andriod phone (the itunes reference leads me to believe you are not) you can simply use an mp3 for a ring tone.

I have TMobile and I have 2 from Pirates of the Caribbean. I had to pay for them each, no monthly contract.

Do you have to download it from your computer or can you do it from your phone. I have an iPhone by the way; dont know if it'll be difficult because of that.

Right now I have a Droid....but we have always done it on the computer and send it via text to our phones. I have never tired to do it direct from the phone.

Ugly, but free way to turn any MP3 into a iPhone compatible ring tone. Select the song you want, right click and go to "Get Info" and then click on "Options". You should see the ability to select the playtime for the track. Use that to isolate the 30 seconds or less that you want to use as your ringtone. Click ok. Then right click on that track, and select "Create AAC version". Once done, remove the AAC version from iTunes where it auto added it, and change the play length on the track back to the full track, reversing the changes you made before. Go to where iTunes saved the AAC. Change the extension from .m4a to .m4r. Add the .m4r file to iTunes. iTunes will now see that as a ringtone and you can add it to your iPhone as normal.

On a droid you can also copy an MP3 to a SD card and get it to the phone that way. My wife and I have been using the same MP3 ring tones since we had Motorola Razers. I now have an Atrix using the same ring tones.

I will have to try to play around with this...becasue there are lots of ring tones I want but cant find on free sites...but have all of the on my MP3 player. So I will have to see if I can figure it out. Thanks

I second Phonezoo! You can also create your own ringtones on the site free. If you have the song you can upload it and create a 30 second ringtone to any song!

It is a little different on each version of Andriod but on 2.2 you simply go to your media player, select the file and apply as a ringtone. As to the file itself there are numerous free programs out there that will allow you to cut a 30-45 second segment from a song which is the perfect length for a ring tone.

I've had the Tigger song for years and I got them from Sprint for free; my kids found it online for me when I got a new phone. My youngest also has a program (couldn't tell you what it's called) that lets you make your own ringtones, she picked it up at Walmart for just a few bucks.

Another Droid strategy...I use 2 apps: GTunes to download the song and then Ringdroid to actually make the ringtone. Both apps are free from the Market, and my ringtone is the theme from Up! :)

Thanks for posting this! I guess I don't need Ringdroid anymore

I have neither an iPod nor an Android and phonezoo is awesome!!! They have so many extremely clear sounding ring tones! So far I've downloaded sounds from the Monorail Schpeal, Star Tours, Pirates, Illuminations, and Space Mountain!!

Just go to youtube and type in "how to make a ringtone on itunes". Thats the easy way to do this and they show the screens as they do it.

I have an older phone (much) and had to resort to playing the Innovention music clip on my computer, recording it and turning it into a ring tone. It works, sounds good and I get people asking me what it is and where I got it. The monorail spiel is my text message tone.

I bought the app "uRingtone" (I think that's the name) for my iPhone. It lets you pick any song from your iTunes and then you pick what 40 seconds of the song you want to use as your ringtone. Once it creates it, you just load that from your desktop into iTunes and drag it to your phone when plugged in. It's the best $0.99 app I've bought and have made tons of Disney ringtones for my iPhone!
