I am planning to apply for the disney rewards visa card and I feel kind of stupid asking but I just wanted to make sure before I apply. The credit card is good for purchase anywhere right not just disney stores? Also I can not decide which card design to get. I like either the castle or mickey and friends, which would you choose? Thanks for the help!

It's just like any other credit card, but you get disney rewards instead of like airline miles.

I chose Mickey

I got the castle one. :D And yes, you can use it anywhere.

Also, search online and find the best deal. For example, when I applied to get the card last year, I did it in order to be able to book free dining before the public and I didn't know about the deals out there. I was given 40.00 back for my first purchase, but I have an offer on the counter in my kitchen for my DH to get 200.00 back when he applies and gets one. We don't need another card, but I hate that I missed that offer, and it was available at that time too. Anyway, before you do it, check around. :)

I got one of the $200 credit offers earlier this year, so I couldn't pass that up.

I originally got the castle design for us, but switched mine to Tink later :D

You can change designs anytime you want. I originally had Mickey and friends. Now have Nemo but I'm bored with it so will probably switch it up soon.

I got the card recently and got 150 disney rewards with it. I plan to use the rewards on my next Disney trip. You can use the card anywhere normal visa cards are accepted. I use mine to buy major purchases, gas, and groceries. :)

I've had the card since Day 1. All I got was a pin that says so. :p

My card is the Tinkerbell one, my hubby's got Toy Story.

That's so funny! Those are the exact cards my DH and I have. I love Tinkerbell and my DHs favorite Disney movie of all time is Toy Story. I love the fact that you can change your card design whenever you want and as often as you like!

I got the castle but found it was hard to read after awhile. We also have Mickey and Tinkerbell. What's great is you can reorder a new card design and the old card will still work...so we just switch when we feel like it.
Great for discounts on tours, sometimes have booked free dining earlier than to the public, and a discount at World of Disney.

I have the Mickey and friends card, I use it on everything and I immediately pay it off once the charge goes through, so instead of getting gas with my debit card i use my Disney Visa, then a day later I pay off the card. I rack up points rather quickly this way!

Does your card say "Charter Cardholder" or something like that and then "Member since Day 1" on it, too? We got ours the first year of the Disney VISA. On one of the card expiration/re-issues the cards they sent didn't say that on the front like they did at first. Hubby called & got the cards reissued with those little phrases on it. I make fun of him whenever he tells someone that story...he's such a little Disney Diva.

We always use it as a credit as opposed to debit for this very reason.

My design was discontinued (The Disneyland Castle for the 50th Anniversay), so once I switch I can't get that design again. I wish there were more park-specific designs (or maybe even a design-your-own card).

So, is this card worth it?

How do you accumulate points? What determines how many points you get? How do you use them towards a WDW vacation? What about the interest? Can you make payments at the bank?

I have many questions since I've had bad luck with credit cards.

It's not the most worthwhile point card, mostly earning 1% back on all purchases. Sometimes during the year you can get a special 5% back promotion...though the more you use the card, the higher the dollar threshold you get before you can start earning those 5x rewards. I like it because we go to Disney, we know we're going to spend money at Disney, so why not have a rewards card that lets us spend money at a place we know we're going to spend money at?!

A nice perk to this card is the 6 months of free financing on Disney Vacation packages. This is 6 months of finanancing per payment, not only on the entire package, so if you wait until you're very last day (30 days out from your vacation...or is it 60?) you still get 6 months of financing on that last payment.
, and every other payment that you have made or will make.
You accumulate points with this card just like any other rewards card and can call for redemption at anytime once you reach your first 10 points. You will then be mailed your reward card (or if you are close to your vacation, you can pick up a card at Guest Services at any theme park and then call Chase to move your points to that card you just picked up). The points are good for any and all purchases in/around the theme parks and at the Disney Store. You can also apply them towards your vacation by calling Disney and letting them know you'd like to apply points towards your trip.
