Do you think anyone would pay to get into Disney Playland? A highly themed indoor playground with all kinds of massive slides (think water park, but dry), rock climbing, ropes courses and climbing nets, etc. And let the imagineers go wild on the theming. Would anyone pay for something like that?

Hmmm. Maybe. Depends on the execution.

Sure, people pay for that all over the country already. Amp up the scale, add the Disney IPs and let parents drop their kids off for an hour or so. It would be hugely popular.

No dropping kids off! This isn't a babysitting service. Hehe.

Well you can charge a lot more if you allow kids to be dropped off. Even without it I think people would go for it. I mean I take my kids to the local Pump It Up which is the same basic concept on a smaller scale and without any characters. If people will pay for generic inflatable slides and bouncers guaranteed they'd pay more for a proper Disney themed area.

Windows don't make any difference for fire safety. As long as there are plenty of exit staircases with clear EXIT signage that has a battery backup.
Many attractions at WDW don't have windows and have plenty of fire exits and are perfectly safe.

Windows could make all of the difference in trying to be rescued from a burning building.

Along those lines, how about KidZania, where parents drop kids off to play, tracked by MagicBands, and they have adventures while the adults go off and 'shop and dine' around Disney Springs. I think that would fit the space perfectly. I'm surprised there isn't a KidZania in Orlando yet as they're springing up all over the world and are immensely popular, so would make a perfect third party tenant.

That sounds like one of the regional entertainment center concepts that Disney attempted in the 1990s called "Club Disney"

My daughter had her 4th birthday party at the Club Disney in Denver. That's sort of what I was thinking about, only larger and have stuff for older kids and teens too, like the Ropes courses.

If Disney was to the do the playground concept, instead of focusing making it a just kids thing...do it like how it was done in St Louis with the City Museum...playground meets arthouse meets adult hang out..images are in the spoiler tag

But it wasn't the Mos Eisley cantina was it? I thought the whole thing was suppose to be a new planet.

I remember reading a poll where Disney was "testing the waters" as to what guests would possibly want in a Star Wars themed area, and the Mos Eisley Cantina was at the top. Even if it's not "Mos Eisley" per se, they could easily come up with a story that the sleazy owner decided to franchise out his "wretched hive" to shady entrepreneurs across the galaxy (helps to cover up the smuggling network!).
