Pumbas Nakasak
Heading for the great escape.
Theyre both crap, Legoland is where its at.
That isn't true.no one said it did
But I'll get on the pompous horse that some of the "You're too young to remember the glory of Epcot Center" people get on and say "You're too young to recall the glory and majesty that once was Cypress Gardens before Legoland" They made you think and aspire and dream!Theyre both crap, Legoland is where its at.
ThisOk... I'm going to come out and say it.
Both sides of this argument really crack. me. up.
@WDWDad13 I'm not responding directly to you, but rather quoting you because your statement here is directly related to the point I'm about to make.
Pixie dusters are all screaming that everyone is bashing Disney and that HP fans are claiming that Uni can do no wrong.
Uni fans are claiming that all Disney fans are pixie dusters who will never admit that Disney has any flaws and are obviously blind to what a fantastic park Uni really is.
I'm just over here laughing because no matter what either group of fans says, both resorts are great places to visit, but they both have their fair share of flaws and weaknesses as well as strengths. Both groups of people are equally deaf to anything negative about their side or anything positive about the other, when in fact, there's no reason in the world why anyone has to choose one set of parks over the other. Sure, not everyone can afford to visit both on every trip... DH and I fall into that category. We did a trip a few years ago where we only went to Uni, and this last June we only went to WDW. As much as I like Disney, we very well may end up going to Uni the next time we visit Orlando. Or not. I don't know, because I have no idea when we'll even be going back, much less what we'll do when we get there. But if I choose to visit Uni and not hit WDW while we're there, it doesn't mean I'm not a Disney fan. Or vice versa.
To an extent, the same should be true with these discussions. Just because I defended the appearance of DA doesn't mean I have any kind of dislike for NFL. On the flip side of the same coin, just because I enjoy going to HS for RnRC and ToT, I'm not disallowed from having just as much fun at either Uni park.
It's perfectly fine to have an opinion one way or another, or to favor one group of parks (or even just one park) over another. But it seems like every time someone doesn't like what someone on the "other side" has to say, it automatically becomes a finger pointing session with generalizations and an assumption that one is either a pixie duster or a member of the First Church of Uni.
Not everything has to be that concrete.
I didn't say he did. I was just shedding some light on the "no one" aspect of the statement.Maybe true, but @WDWDad13 was not one who did.

Could have fooled me. You insist that Universal made a big mistake making Diagon Alley look like Diagon Alley. Yet you fail to propose any sort of alternative and continue to ignore the fact that the land is much bigger than the ONE PICTURE you reference. Further, you ignore the first person reviews which overwhelmingly nullify the complaints you have for an area you haven't been to.no one said it did

I'm sorry, wasn't meaning to imply you had, in fact my implication was that yes, some had denounced DA and though he said "no one" a little abruptly in my opinion, at least he had not. Though critical of the size of the alley itself, I think he was actually pleased with the theming (is that a word/) of it all, but that's up to him to state.I didn't say he did. I was just shedding some light on the "no one" aspect of the statement.
As I read his post, he was really just saying that the alley looked kind of narrow and that it might be a problem with the massive crowds that it will see. I don't know why it would be necessary for him to give an alternative to that issue given 1) that alternative would be to make a wider street and 2) not only is he not in a position to implement this plan but neither is anyone else.Could have fooled me. If he would stop ignoring firsthand reports, he would find that they are a sufficient compromise between the need to hold a crowd and being narrow enough to still be an "alley". Only SEVERELY claustrophobic people will have an issue. Kind of like how how folks who are afraid of birds or clowns will have a problem with parts of DAK or Casey Jr.'s Circus area.As I read his post, he was really just saying that the alley looked kind of narrow and that it might be a problem with the massive crowds that it will see. Something that any person can see. Something that is shown in the films and then repeated in the advertisements. Something that was intentional by design. Something that was said about Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmead. It's a bland observation that constantly repeating adds nothing of value to a conversation, especially since it was all supposedly without any greater point. As I read his post, he was really just saying that the alley looked kind of narrow and that it might be a problem with the massive crowds that it will see. The main street in DA is wider than Hogsmeade. They intentionally made the buildings very tall and to give it a more enclosed feeling the buildings lean in towards the street to give it a cavernous feel. But there is actually lots of space to move around in Diagon Alley.OMG... some of you are trying so hard to make up what I say just to argue it's sad...really
I never insisted that Universal made a big mistake making Diagon Alley look like it did in the movie. I also could care less about proposing any sort of alternative...they are big boys they can do what they want. All I'm saying (yet again) is that the area appears to be somewhat narrow and with a mass of people could feel very enclosed with the tall buildings on each side and those that don't like or get stressed in those environments, it may not be good for them... that is all.
the same could be said for Osborne lights during those mass crowds... but with a smaller street and no real sidewalks to walk on
No. Just for your use of the word "no one".so I take the heat because of something someone else said?

It's all a desperate clawing at thin material to find criticism, not unlike Jimmy Thick's "fan issue" when Cabana Bay opened.
