Don’t worry…when the Johnson trilogy and the new Daisy Ridley movie where she explores the deeper meaning of the force and performs in the Jedi traveling circus come out…they are gonna add some meet and greets and rechristen the land “BadToo”

…that’ll fix it
Hahahaha! For sure! Why are they even making a Rey trilogy? Rise of Skywalker was actively marketed as the end of the Skywalker Trilogy, and made of the Force Awakens.

At Disneyland for the 100th anniversary we had nametags with favorite characters, not once did I see a cast member with Rey as favorite character. Tons of people had Clone Wars characters though.

Also Disney never allowed anyone to have Jack Sparrow as a favorite character which upset me, so they gave me Mickey Mouse LOL

The management now believes they know what Fans want more than the fans themselves. And they are wrong.

It’s not more complicated than that.

It’s how they can manage to bomb years worth of entire movie slates and run two gigantic pop culture franchises into the ditch…at the same time.

It’s crazy! Where I worked I interacted with guests all day! I had people high up in Disney talk to me due to my work location somewhere where they could relax from rest of park…

I talked to one guy, who was one of the top people in charge of the movie Wish a year ago. He said morale was very low at Disney animation and that they were hoping this wouldn’t be a flop.

I remember I asked about John Lasseteer. What he said he was pushed out by executives to cover face, and that he was a good guy just a lovey guy. He said since John left morale at Disney Animation and Pixar was all time recent low.

I can - and often do - go to Epcot everyday.

So there’s plenty of appeal.

But they haven’t “improved” it to the point where they accomplished much.

I reject the “it’s boring…there’s not enough IP” crowd - however. If thats the “problem”…there’s a train that goes to magic kingdom
My kids have always loved Epcot. It's still my stepdaughter's favorite park.

The bolded are the only ones that are popular with kids. Nemo and Figment are always dead. Test Track and especially Guardians are too intense. It’s really just a park for locals and for food.
Definitely out of touch here. I have a 5 and 3 year old--they love Spaceship Earth, Nemo, Turtle Talk, Soarin, Figment, Frozen, Rat, 3 Cabs, and going around the countries. Haven't seen Moana yet, but that's a plus one for kids.

So with falling attendance they are in trouble.
With little exceptions, that falling attendance has been accompanied by rising revenue and profit.

Falling attendance leads to higher GSATs among guests that do go since it's less 'crowded.'

Disney has been hiking costs purposely to deter overcrowding. They found the inflection point. They just need to dance around it a bit.

But no one should see falling attendance as 'bad for the company' until there is a dramatic reduction in revenue.

Revenue lost by falling attendance has been offset by cost cutting, increased guest spending via price increases, G+/ILL, and additional up-charge offerings.

How sustainable do you think that is?

Higher prices leads to even lower GSATs among guests.

Come on Penguin, stop spinning. Preventing overcrowding doesn't sell G+ or LL, it is just the heavy hand of marketing wanting to get ahead of the self-made disaster they created.

No company wants to be in this type of decline.

Word of mouth and the reputation of Disney has never been lower for the domestic parks and their associated brands and offerings. Resorts are not doing well with some resorts having large section shuttered completely. Dining venues are certainly hurting as well. They've blown well past the breaking point of guest tolerances for pricing, and it is only a matter of time before they run out fingers to put in the dike.

I was explaining why lower attendance was not a sign of the company crumbling. I very specifically said the part you're trying to "teach me," namely that the price hikes have hit the peak for a significant number of people. I acknowledged the part you think I was ignoring. So, stop trying to school me on the things I admitted.

Thank you so I didn’t have to do it…

Spinning a throw away line Bob made in 2015 when attendance dipped and he couldn’t come up with another excuse fast enough.

Disney NEVER wants lower attendance…period. The stockholders won’t allow it. Ands it’s an ABSURD idea when you’re running a profit engine.

Stop lying for Bob. Period.

Do
Better

What has Disney done to show that they've recognized the upper limit of guest's spending tolerances? They're by no means dancing around, just more slight of hand gimmicks to preserve what they can.

I believe firmly that Bob Iger is lying about knowing Universal's plans for Epic Universe for 10 years. The reason he's saying this is a money and face saving tactic. By saying that you've known the plans for 10 years, you can then claim that everything you've done in the past 10 years has already been a response to Epic Universe.

I do however think that Disney is in panic mode right now. Theire standing as the number one family theme Park destination has been faltering the past few years, if not longer. I do think that Disney will open a fifth gate at some point in the next two decades, but I don't think that's anytime soon.

However I fully expect at d23 major expansions will be announced at all four parks. Epcot will get a new country. Possibly a new ride as well in one of the existing countries or in the new country. Hollywood Studios will get either several large expansions to existing lands or several expansions plus one large new expansion with a new IP. We already know what's coming to animal kingdom. I think everything coming to MK has been spoiled already but I believe they're going to go bigger with everything. I also wouldn't be shocked if MK gets something new for Fantasyland and likely a nighttime parade.

Brian Roberts is much smarter than Bob sitcom king…

He’s just saddled with an awful rep family business.

He’ll respond to bobs nonsense…shade on deck

I’m expecting a lot of announcements

But hold off, Bob acolytes, because that’s the Easy part

The vague time tables and overall generalities is where the devil is hiding

And before we starting taking D23 polls and predictions…here’s what I want:

Significant investments showing up in the parks by 12/31/2025.

Both coasts

What? I don’t care…Just get something done and stop with this sorry BLEEP nonsense
