Is the Disney Photo Pass CD worth the approx. $100 price tag? Has anyone taken advantage of this? During MNSSHP, do they have photographers at the character meet and greets using the photo pass?

Seems if you took advantage of every photo opportunity it would be worth it. I know I've spent $15+ on individual pictures. Oh, one other question, do any of the rides use photo pass?

Thanks, just trying to get some last minute info before heading down in 11 days!

Maybe I am talking about something different than what you are talking about, but I got a Photo Pass cd for around 10-20 dollars when I was down there over the summer. Sorry if I am talking about something else. But if I am talking about the same thing, it is worth it if you get a lot of pictures made!

The one I'm talking about I found on the DisneyPhotoPass website. I was looking to see if I could find some prices and came across a link. It stated that the cd would hold up to 300 pictures. I don't really know much about it at all.

What is the one you purchased for approx. $10-$20? Could you get as many pictures as you could have taken added to the cd?

Photo pass is completely new to us. I didn't know about it until the last day of our trip last year and only had two pictures on it.

Anyone that has any info on this, I would really appreciate it.

We just returned from our trip two weeks ago and are considering the PhotoPass CD. We have about 50 photos on our PhotoPass (it was our daughter's first trip). We figure if there are at least 7 of them that we'd be purchasing, it's worth the $100 for the CD. My understanding from talking to one of the photogs in the park is that by purchasing the CD you're basically purchasing the rights to the photos so you can print as many as you want, send them to whomever you want, etc. I'm not sure yet, what we're going to do, but we're at least weighing the option of purchasing the CD.

Getting your own photos burnt to a cd (to free up space on your memory card for example) is like $13. Buying a cd full of photos taken by the PhotoPass photographers is $100.

Personally, I can't see why anyone who already owns a digital camera would pay for the service. (And then pay to print them on top of it!) Many of the photos are poor quality and it's much more limited then just using your own. (How many posed photos in front of a main landmark do you want as your vacation pics?) But...some people like that kind of thing and to them, it's worth it.

It's boils down to a personal preference.

Is the resolution higher on the CD than on the preview website?

I'm kinda surprised Disney hasn't implemented (as of the last time I checked a few months ago) Flash instead of using html for their previews, anyone with half an hour of HTML experience can figure out the picture location from the page source and cut Disney out of the equation (assuming the pictures aren't higher quality on the CD)

Unlike the wallet size photos you find on the website, the size of the Disney Photopass photos on the CD are 3008 x 2000. They are huge.

Seems like that would be a disservice to the tech challenged, they should include (if they don't already) email sized copies so someone doesn't clog up their email server with a bunch of huge pictures

We bought the CD during our summer visit. We stopped at every photo pass photographer we saw in every park and took many photos each time. After our three week visit, we had 712 pictures. They put the photos on two CDs for the one price of $99.

There is another thread in which many forum members commented...you might want to read thru it to get more info...here's the link:

Have fun with it...don't stress...the Photopass program is a no risk, no obligation venture so the most you can lose is the time it takes to shoot the pictures. Even if you don't buy the CD, you can always save the smaller photos that you view on the PhotoPass website.

No, they don't include email-size copies. I suppose you can always use the photo from their website but you only have 30 days before it's deleted.

I always resize the photo for email. Here's a link to a very simple online photo resizer. It takes less than a minute.

Hope this helps.

Can you buy the CD from home after your trip like you can the photos? Or do you need to purchase the CD at the parks?
The one I saw you ordered from home. Go to DisneyPhotoPass.com and you can access the link and information that I did.

I can't decide if it would be worth it. I think, if there were a lot of family style pictures, to me, it would be worth it. Usually, I end up left out of the picture because I'm the one taking them. So, it would be nice to have some with the whole family included.

If you buy from home, you only get the raw unedited photos from the photopass. then you can manipulate them using your own computer software. If you buy the CD there, a photopass castmember goes through all the photographs with you, and makes edits, crops, removes red eye, adds fun overlays, and adds the edited photos to the CD along with the raw unedited photos. It's a great deal that way, and makes for some more interesting photos to save and/or share. And the cast member is very fast - making the CD was no more than a short break from being in the park.

We used the service at our last visit, and found the photopass photographers were more than willing to take custom shots at our request, including taking a photo of us with a duck that waddled up while we were waiting for illuminations. It saved us from having to tote our camera around all day - we just used the photopass photographers instead. I know we will use the service and buy the CD again!

There are a few Photopass kiosks on Disney property. I got my CD from the kiosk at the Grand Floridian. It's located on the second floor near the grand staircase and within 50 feet of the doors leading to the monorail. I can't remember where the other kiosks are located.

Just got back on Monday and we did buy the CD.

It all depends on who you go to what you will get. When we checked early in the week to see how the pictures looked, they did tell us that they would do the cropping and overlays and include it on the CD (this was at Epcot). But when we did go to purchase the CD the last day (from MK) they told us that it did not include any of the overlays.

They did combine our Holloween party pictures with our regular pictures. We had about 150 pictures total.

K&K - did you have your picture taken by the photopass guy at the haunted mansion at the halloween party? If so did the ghost show up in the picture on your cd?
