Have to agree... when I did my ICP we basically lived at the parks on our days off, or before / after shifts. What a horrid CM perk it has become.

I want to point out that's not the blackout calendar for CMs, that may be the reservation page...but it's not the blockout calendar like that tweet is claiming.

MK is hard on blockouts, but not "no access for 5 months" like that tweet says.

Adding block out calendar and reservation availability, I could see how it could be very hard to get into certain parks as a CM.

As our ICP was only for 2.5 months in the summer, we weren't blocked out at all that I can recall, apart from on the 24 hour party day.

I mean, there is nothing stopping them from going in the employee entrance and into the parks.
Yea you gotta use the standby lines and all.. but again, nothing stops them.

Oh wait.. is that a "RULE BREAKING" suggestion.. THE HORROR.. OH THE HORROR!!!!

Man- if they just built capacity in the 2000’s instead of fiddling with fast pass plus to “move people around” as the answer- this wouldn’t even be an issue needed to be addressed.

Here's a current look at April Park Reservation calendar for Resort/Ticket guests. Magic Kingdom is full for the first 22 days (and 13 of those 22 days only Epcot is available).

Doesn’t work for a CM who wants to bring his/her kids.

I believe they are actually making a conscious decision to lower park capacity in early April because they have simply allowed too many guests into the parks in March.

They really need to bring back all shuttered entertainment and raise dining capacity ASAP. I know they are working on this. DHS and DAK are particularly problematic.

Separately, I do feel for AP holders who didn’t have reservations yet. Given that the number of passes sold was restricted, it feels unreasonable to now artificially lower reservation availability for that group. This will obviously affect locals more than vacationers since it would be very hard to get a room on site for April right now.

This. All of this. A conscious effort on the part of TDO to essentially spit in the face of local AP holders. I wonder if they truly think they can do that and still expect them to prop up their parks when the next economic downturn hits. If I were a local and an AP holder (I have been in the past, but won't buy another one for a long time the way things look parks-wise), they've done more than enough to justify me walking away at this point.

It's an absolute nightmare for CMs coming from California, New York, Bristol, or any of the other hubs. They have to go through all of the advanced planning of a "normal" guest with booking rooms, buying plane tickets, making dining reservations, etc. before they even know if they'll be able to get into the parks. And then their guest passes are limited to only holding three reservations at a time, so they can't guarantee park access for their whole trip.

I know, right? Makes those $25 t-shirts more affordable. ;) I haven't seen a t-shirt (in stock) that I wanted to buy on my last two trips.
When is the last time you went? $25? Maybe for an infant onesie.

T-shirts are like $35-40. Spirit shirts are the current rage but you can conveniently take out a HELOC right through MDE. Such convenience simply cannot be matched by Universal.

I see in the Shop app that t-shirts are up to $30 now at the low end. I was there in November and I could swear I saw some for $25. What the actual...

“Supply lines”

They keep accidentally sending WDW merch to Disneyland. And putting it on racks. These issues cost money.

Disneyland does have some lovely Flower and Garden Festival shirts, though! I’m hoping to find an Indiana Jones Adventure t-shirt at Creations Shop next month. I have a TDL tank top that I wear the hell out of that I found in our Tomorrowland.

Apparently, Moana isn’t THAT good at navigating the seas.
