Sounds like Disney finally figured out how much the average guest values a day at DLR. The prices increases have been too aggressive and now they know where that line is. They will take this data and use it to maximize profits and attendance. DLR will be more packed than ever soon and we'll all remember fondly summer of 2019 as the last time Disneyland was pleasant.
and everyone complaining now will still be complaining then! :D

Yes it’s not meeting expectations for now. But if anyone wants a good laugh

This is one of those kernel of truth in a heap of misinformation concepts. It is actually true that evaluations of the lands will occur in late January, early February. It is true that one potential resolution is to relaunch the land with a new backstory should Episode 9 flop and the lands continue to struggle. However, nothing has been decided yet, Episode 9 may yet succeed, and a more likely route is a $250 million investment in a Phase 2 thrill ride. But absolutely nothing has been decided except a late January, early February assessment.

Incorrect. All $250 million will actually be spent on adding a ramp to the Millennium Falcon. This addition will fix the land and bankrupt Universal immediately upon its opening. @THE 1HAPPY HAUNT will cut the ribbon at this new ramp-based attraction.

"I don't want to go to no fakey Millennium Falcon."

"But they now let you go up the ramp."

"Pack your bags - quickly! NOW!"

Take that Trowbridge. MAybe you should “started with the rides” after all.

Where would this thrill ride go at DL?

FTFY. Same in DHS they need MORE - Falcon's ok, it's no headliner, but it's a solid people eater. Keep it and ADD MORE!
Gotta disagree. Maybe a solid people eater, but it's a boring ride that takes up way too much real estate. I don't think it is possible to make the Falcon out front a walkthrough attraction, but ideally that should be the Falcon attraction and nothing more.

Also are they going to add some more entertainment and life to the land before they make their assessment? Seems like the timing of their assessment is off with ROTR barely opening at the end of January. Unless of course they plan on adding a lot of entertainment / streetmosphere to the land between now and then? I’m pretty sure they ll see what they want out of ROTR.

Honestly, we're not as far apart on this as you might think. The only difference is I'm not advocating that they spend the money and time to demolish and replace a brand new attraction (even if it has substantial unrealized potential) before starting with a new one. (And we both know they won't do that.) There's room for a third attraction/phase 2 without doing anything to Falcon. Roll with that currently.
