Final vehicle is in Alien right now, per site that cannot be named.
It's the end of an era my friend.Lights just turned out.
It's pronounced "Paycheck."...and another amazing attraction is in the books. Hope you're proud, Chapek.
Did anyone else ride through and try to figure out where they'd "relocate" some of the AAs? Maybe send Cheetah and Timba to the Jungle Cruise? John Wayne's horse to Big Thunder Mountain?
Agreed. When I hear runway railway I think of a train on tracks or something, and this is in the chinese theater. Imagineering has flown the coop I guess, I dont know. Its very sad what they have become.
On my final ride tonight, we had the gangster scene. The car wasn't moving (it was this afternoon).
We lingered in Munchkin Land. It was emotional.
It's hard to image they are shutting down Oz.
Not to speak ill of the dead, but I never understood why you exit the theater room to get to the load area. Wouldn't it make more sense story-wise to board in the theater room and then go "into" the screen? Anyhow, it was no less a great ride and a still-relevant premise.
The idea is that you're viewing a Mickey short, but then get sucked into it.
You know, the old MGM had an identity problem. It never hung together as well as it should.Like many here, I'm sad to see this unique experience close.
It was a one-off...and a must-ride every visit.
I real disappointment that Disney didn't feel motivated to invest in changing a few scenes or enhancing some of the already existing ones.
This Attraction could have easily gone on for another twenty years had the proper efforts and interest exsisted.
But alas, no.....we will be seeing an entirely new kind of 'moving picture' now.
Thank you, 'The Great Movie Ride', for being the heart of the ol' Disney / MGM Studios / Hollywood Studios.
I for one, shall miss your Park presence.
That's a wrap, folks.
Turn off those spotlights.
