I'm actually out and about as we speak - fully masked, fully vaxxed, boosted, keeping distance, and tested negative yesterday. And let me tell you, it's just as awful as you say to be able to do things while still being considerate of other people.
How old are your kids?

I didn't think so.

Did you advocate for masking children during flu season prior to March 2020? If not, why not?

I did not - because I, like millions of others, had no cultural awareness of the benefits the way we do now.

But you knew that.

So does the CDC say "mask and vaccinate" as opposed to "mask or vaccinate" since Disney seems to be saying (for the CA and FL parks) "sometimes mask"?

"Be considerate of others by behaving exactly as I demand you do and forcing your children to do the same" is a hell of a take.

Good for you!!!

If everyone could be as amazing as you this would all be over.

Truth is despite all of that if you come close to someone with Omicron for more than 1 minute you will still catch it.

But hey thanks for your effort in stopping the unstoppable.

Which is why I don't come close to anyone for that long. Keep your distance and keep moving. It's pretty easy - and in places where it isn't, I leave. It works pretty well 🤷‍♂️

People need to relax. Children are not being psychologically or socially damaged from having to wear a mask. Children have no problem wearing a mask. Some people need to stop inventing problems to complain about.

By the way, if the people so worried about children wearing masks had worn masks themselves from the beginning then those children wouldn't have to wear a mask now. See how that works?

Some people just like to complain.

Taking available data seriously and not going by knee jerk intuition is not “Karening”. The limited data we have indicates masks may impact children negatively. Is it worth the trade off? Maybe. But we should be honest in that conversation, not just try to wave away data that we don’t like with insults.

Disney mirrors CDC policy.

As *I* demand? Or as is medically adviseable?
"Advise" implies that I have a choice. I can read data and evaluate risk for myself. Based on that data, I chose to get vaccinated. I chose to have my daughter vaccinated. I chose to get a booster. I have no choice whether or not to wear a mask, which is orders of magnitude *less* effective at protecting myself and others than the steps I've already taken.

It's crazy town that, of vaccines and masks, the one that's actually effective is optional and the one that's practically useless is mandatory.

"Practically useless" is a little strong - but I can agree that vaccines are more effective and I wish they weren't so easy for people to blow off.

Some people have these things called Jobs that require then to be around these creatures called Humans.

Im glad you have it all figured out for you, but most people live in reality.
Right. I definitely don't have one of those. Nobody who's cognizant of social distancing while they're out in public has a job.

I get what you're saying, but I think it's pretty obvious I wasn't suggesting that people with jobs that require close contact simply opt out. But mine doesn't, so I make a point to keep my distance while I'm out getting groceries . . . you know, like you're supposed to.

Supermarket opens at 7am, I'm one of the first in first out little to no contact with other customers when store opens up.

At an event at George Washington University, Dr. Leana Wen said that“Cloth masks are little more than face decorations. There’s no place for them in light of Omicron,” per PEOPLE Magazine.

All I see is cloth masks. I just left Disney and 95% of masks where cloth.

But hey at least everyone has their face decorations on.

I'd like to see Disney step up their requirement to N95's. That's all I wear now in light of Omicron. They have rules about Gaiters and such not being permitted due to their ineffectiveness, that should evolve with what we know about the active variants.
