As I edited to add above - I’m not arguing the medical advice we’ve received from specialists at a world renowned medical center on the internet. It’s not anti-vax, nor an emotional choice.

And yet you keep posting. And yes. It’s likely one of those things. You’re vaccinated. Trust the vaccine and/or stop pretending a mask provides a vaccinated person anything extra in real life situations.

I do trust the vaccine. As I trust the medical advice we have received. Not everyone in my household is fully vaccinated as of yet, though that will be remedied in the coming weeks. It’s not an either/or situation.

This isn’t a US vs. UK thing. As you’ll recall, I live in the US anyway. The pandemic is far from over where I am. In my hometown of London, where I haven’t been in almost two years, mask compliance is said to be shockingly low. You would probably feel right at home there.

The behaviour you’re engaging in at WDW is obnoxious in the extreme. There’s no other word for it. I feel sorry for the CMs whose jobs you’re selfishly making harder, and I hope a manager notes what you’re doing and removes you from the parks.

I apologize I thought you lived in the UK. My behavior is not extreme. It is principled civil disobedience. When a CM tells me to do something, I do it. I just make my opinion known. That’s the only way things change.

We know that breakthrough cases are a thing. We also know that masks—especially N95 masks—offer their wearers some protection from airborne droplets. How on earth is it anti-science, then, to acknowledge that a masked vaccinated person has at least a bit more protection than an unmasked vaccinated person? Whether the additional protection is worth it is another matter, and I can see why some would consider the difference too minimal to justify putting on a mask, but I don’t quite understand the claim that masking does nothing whatsoever for the vaccinated.

I’m vaccinated, and I wear a mask. I was at Target on Black Friday (not in the early morning..omg. I despise Black Friday shopping, but went with MIL. I wore a mask, a KN-95 as that’s what I had. It’s not a matter of not trusting the vaccine - I do. Or I wouldn’t be out at all (as I wasn’t pre-vaccination). But yes, such a mask can provide additional protection, and I am fine respecting the stores’ requests to wear a mask - as every place I have been even where there are no mandates, the stores have signs up requesting patrons wear them. Respecting that is not anti-vax.

My policy is if anyone has to wear it - still a vast number of employees - then I wear them as a courtesy

Tell me, which specific right or rights - either constitutional, codified in law, or by supreme court decision - is or are being violated by masks being required on the indoor portions of private property by the owner of that property?

Please cite specific portions of the constitution, federal/state legislation, or specific Florida or US Supreme Court decisions.

We are not in that situation this time, luckily. Our Jan trip that we're probably going to cancel 31 days out in Dec is the start of our use year so we have some wiggle room.

However, we were in that situation in October and choose to go even though we were there in Oct 2020 and hated it because masks were required everywhere then. DW cried when we got home because she hated our trip. So, we cancelled our Jan 2021 anniversary trip. When Disney dropped the masks we booked the October trip instead of banking...then masks came back. We decided to go instead of losing the money...DW cried again when we got home. That's why we'll cancel Jan 2022 anniversary if nothing changes prior to the cancellation window.

My comment above about the complication was more in general for those DVC folks who are in that situation now (like we were in October because those points were on a Dec use year so not much chance of renting them). Just wanted to throw out a different perspective thinking that the original poster was thinking of a no-penalty hotel reservation. With DVC, you can get to a timeframe where you're stuck with that complicated choice.

They added the mask mandate due to the situation in Orange County specifically. They listened to the mayors request. Now that the situation has reversed, they should also reverse the mandate. It’s not difficult
