I am sorry to have to say this because it could bring back bad memories, But the Wand certainly went a long way to Jump the Shark! At least for Epcot anyway! Walt would have barfed at that one!

I Might be aging myself here and only a handful of members will remember this.
The show "Happy Days" back in the 70s went down hill and crashed right after the episode that "Fonzy" did a dare to jump a Shark with water skis.

Now the term "Jump the Shark" is sometimes used when someone or something makes a drastic mistake in judegement which in turns ruins them.

What "Jumped the Shark" decisions do you think Disney has done in the past present that you feel was really dumb.

I think to this day the one thing that stands out to me was the
"Daredevil Stunt Circus" which was right in front of Epcot in the last 80s.
I thought that was the most God-Aweful tacky thing to do.

LET THE FLOOD GATES OPEN......
I thought he jumped over a "shark tank" on a motorcycle. I saw it many years ago, I might be wrong, But I remember The Fonz dressed up like Evil Knievel on a motorcycle jumping over a shark in an above ground pool kind of thing in the parking lot of Al's.

For me growing up, Disney "jumped the shark" in its live action movies with such product as "The Apple Dumpling Gang" and "No Deposit No Return." Those types of movies seemed to me to be insulting to the intelligence of children, were a true step down from the classics of 20K, Ole Yeller, Swiss Family Robinson, etc. that had come out in the previous decade(s), and put me off of Disney films until Eisner and Wells came to the company and started putting out movies under the Touchstone, Holllywood and Mirimax labels.

The parks are fine. I respectfully disagree with those who say the parks have run out of innovative ideas. Such newish releases as PhilharMagic, Expedition Everest, Soarin' and the things coming out of Pixar Place tell me the parks will continue to be places where I can go and experience new and fun attractions now and in the future.

Animation probably jumped the shark with just about everything after Hercules, and including that movie might be a stretch. Thank God for Pixar's association with Disney or we wouldn't be talking about Disney as a quality content provider of big screen theatrical releases of animated films anymore.

They "jumped the shark" when they changed Tusker House to a buffett instead of a counter service. It was just so convenient to make a quick decision to eat there, then hang out outside with a beer and watch the world go by.

This is one of the best post, I can't believe I didn't say this

'Jumping' on the Fox property American Idol after it has become obvious Paula Abdul is not what she used to be and is in all kinds of crazy tabloids as well as the show itself now adding a fourth judge. Meanwhile the show is claiming that a fourth judge was planned all along and therefore jumping the shark itself.

This is a great point, I want people to understand I love Disney like the rest of you do. But, I expect so much more. The world can be a bettr place with a better Disney!

Wow. For some very odd reason, I thought there was eventually going to be a "Jumped the Shark" thread. Weird.

But, I don't theme park can actually jump the shark.
