It’s amazing how much we have lost Holiday wise at Disney World over the last 10-15 years. Meanwhile, DLR has the best Holiday celebration period. It’s not even close and you don’t have to pay extra for it. I would be a little more hyped for this party if we got something even close to the level of Viva Navidad as part of the entertainment.

Not even close Dollywood and Silver Dollar City are better than DLR. Sea World Orlando is better. I’ll let you know about BGW after this December. I would still argue that WDW Resort does Christmas better than DLR.

With the exception of one weekend, DLR fails to highlight the entire point of the holiday, Sea World, Dollywood, SDC, and Epcot have elements that highlight all aspects of the holiday. DLR doesn’t for a vast majority of its run.

DLR is far superior. I get it, you love that Epcot still has the Candlelight processional nightly. Disneyland resort only for one weekend.

That does not make Disney worlds overall holiday celebration better. From haunted Mansion holiday to it's a small world holiday to a Believe in holiday magic firework shows to Viva navidad, to the level of decor that is presented at Carlands, Buena Vista Street, Main Street USA and New Orleans Square... All of which is included with regular park admission, Disneyland resort is vastly superior and celebrating the holidays.

While I appreciate that Epcot still does the candlelight processional almost nightly throughout the entire season, I cannot and will not overlook how much more Disneyland offers for the holidays versus Walt Disney World.

Minnie’s mops the floor with Believe, heck every castle firework show currently showing at both parks, it is so old. I think OUACT is also better than ACF. I get you beef with paying for MVMCP, but I don’t really care, not when you add in the stuff at Epcot, and the few other things at DHS and AK. I do love iasw holiday, HMH is great as is Vic’s Navidad but without a component highlighting the religious aspect it rings hollow. Candlelight is amazing and I love it, but it wouldn’t need to be that, a day show would be fine too. I’m not looking for it in everything nor require it for the whole year, but if you are going to celebrate a religious holiday you need to make it a part of the celebration, otherwise it reeks as a false attempt.

Do you hate the Irish stuff in St Patrick’s Days celebrations and the patriotic stuff in Independence Day celebrations? Christmas is a religious holiday, that’s what’s being celebrated, it’s not really a celebration of Christmas without the religious component. It’s the entire point of the holiday.

Diwali and Holi look like great holidays to celebrate but I’m not Hindu, so I don’t celebrate them normally. If I was ever invited to a public gathering celebrating them I would happily come, but I wouldn’t then criticize them for including said religious aspects, because it’s the point of the holiday.
It may be to you - it isn't for everyone. Xmas is a secular celebration for millions of people.

I’m not saying you have to do the more religious stuff if you don’t want to I’m stating your offerings are not complete without it. I also find it weird that, for Christmas only, you can separate out the main reason for the holiday and be taken aback when people question what your actually celebrating.

You know I love Independence Day! The fireworks and BBQ are so much fun, but I really don’t want any mention about the founding of the United States or highlighting 1776 at all, it’s a real downer on an otherwise fun day.

See how weird it sounds?

I mean, I don't know anyone on the 4th who even talks about why we are celebrating it. 😄 We are grilling, drinking and having fun. I don't even have an American Flag to put outside. (not for any particular reason, just never bought one)

So no, it's not weird for me that non-religious people celebrate Christmas. I don't begrudge people feeling the religious aspect is the most important part, but I'm not a part of an organized religion anymore, quite frankly don't even believe in it, and I love celebrating the Christmas season. Zoo lights is fun.

FTR - I think it's great Disney still incorporates the religious part for people. And I think it's great that they also have more non-religious aspects so everyone can take part.

How well do we think this will sell? I see resort guests are getting first crack at tickets

I think it will sell very well as it is only 10 dates (so limited supply) and something new. I see a lot of interest amongst my friends that are local and of course all the vloggers, etc will want to go since it is new

Yeah the Vloggers were a thought of mine too. I’m just wondering if there’s any point in trying if you aren’t a hotel guest. But we will see what happens. I’m limited to 3 dates so that doesn’t help.

Have we heard any more details about the Tip Top Club/Brown Derby "limited access" things? I would love to go to the Tip Top Club and I'm just curious if it will be an add on to your ticket or a VQ system.

I haven't seen anything ... And would be nice to know as tickets go on sale in like a week right?

Yeah. Tickets for resort guests go on sale tomorrow.
  • "Revel in a jazzy setting at a limited-capacity, Hollywood-themed lounge—located at The Hollywood Brown Derby Restaurant."
  • "Drop in to the The Hollywood Tower Hotel courtyard for a limited-capacity, otherworldly soirée."
The wording is just so vague. In my opinion it could either be a dining reservation, VQ or a ticket add-on. I was originally leaning toward it being a ticket add-on, but again they start sales for tickets tomorrow and nothing has been said. I'm also wondering if these will be age-restricted (21+). Seems unusual for a Disney event but it's possible.

I wish we knew if there was any food included at all before booking starts tomorrow. If the price is 150+ and there's no food at all when it was previously included with mvmcp or after hours, seems like a big change.

It really could be anything. It also could just be something that X amount of people can fit and there are semi continuous acts and if full then the next guests have to wait until someone leaves.

Would be nice to know some more details, especially as those are some of the more interesting aspects I feel

After the media event, Brooke McDonald reported the Brown Derby lounge is expected to use a waitlist and will likely limit time similar to Oga's Cantina.

Does anyone know (around) what time tickets will go on sale?
Tickets for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party went on sale around midnight ET, so most likely around the same time.

Update - Scott reports tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights will not go on sale until the morning of, rather than at Midnight, on both the pre-sale date tomorrow and general sales on July 6.
