Do you have to pay an upcharge on top of the upcharge for a party within a party at HHN? (Never been to Universal, so don't care what they do, since this particular thread is about DHS.)
They have the Blood Carpet upcharge with private RIP lounge, tour of the houses, and ... more

A weee bit different in price and offerings. Universal doesn't advertise to come to HHN to be able to buy food. Also, you have them taking things that were free a few years ago and putting them behind the paywall here.

But, why no hate here? I'd guess mainly because we are on a WDW board and not DL or USF. I actually hadn't even heard of that DL thing til just now.
Actually they do advertise for food and drink.
And why the aversion to things behind a paywall? That is how most entertainment works. And most entertainment has upcharges available as well.

Maybe just the ads I saw, but most of the push was for all the haunted houses and atmosphere, I have no idea if they have separate food or drink parties, and it certainly isn't one of the main offerings to get you to spend to come down.

But, it's about things that they didn't charge for suddenly being charged for with no drop in price. And no, I don't think that is how entertainment works. If I went to promo nights at a hockey game and got free calendars, and the next year they told us tickets no longer include the promo items for promo night, and instead you need to pay $25 for it, I'd be upset about that too. If the bowling alley takes their $40 deal for an hour lane, shoes, and a pizza and says "Nope, now shoes aren't included," I'd be upset about that too. If Cedar Point suddenly decides "Eh, now you need separate tickets at 6 PM during October," I'd be livid. And if it was the 50th time of them doing such a thing, yeah, I'd definitely call it out. I don't fly, but yeah, I understand this is how airlines work, and why they are seeing their customer satisfaction tumble as well.

HA. Just like all other parks. Be an exclusive fan club member for the opportunity to buy seats at the paid special event for a show that was free 3 years ago. I have no idea why people are upset and mocking this

Odds on there next being an add-on to enter various streets in the park just because

Studios will never see another “rare character” again at a hard ticket don’t fret
I meant more along the lines of

1. People who go to both feeling like they get their Nightmare Before Christmas fill from this so don't consider the line worth it.

2. Fans choose to go to this instead and so aren't at Very Merry and don't get in the line.

Will be interesting to see what this does to crowds overall - would think most people wouldn't do this AND MVMCP, and I see a lot of my local friends interested in this one so maybe reduces demand overall for MCMCP?

If Cedar Point suddenly decides "Eh, now you need separate tickets at 6 PM during October," I'd be livid.

I've always loved ticketed events that are before or after normal park hours, especially if they actually have restricted attendance. I've always hated events that close the park early. It's easy enough to handle, just go to the party park in the morning then hop, or start in another park then attend the party, and avoid the party park on non-party days. I really hate having to go through these planning contortions.

Similar situation, as a non-D23 attendee do I avoid D23 day? If I join D23 will the reserved area be oversold?

At the end of the day I have no concept of the true value of this event without knowing the capacity.

I agree this is the bottom line. Disney has stubbornly refused to give us any information about how many tickets will be sold to these events. If they follow their past patterns they will keep it very uncrowded the first couple of dates, then once we've heard it's great and uncrowded they will double the # of tickets sold. Remember how the Halloween party was great for a while, then more crowded than normal hours in later years.

Of course, Disney would actually want to use MSEP/PTN or Make a New One...........THAT I'm suspicious about. Especially, when DL didn't jump right away to MSEP after F! Went down........

We thought DL MSEP was rumored for 2023 anyway...that obviously didn't happen.......

Upcharges or not. Those Two Parades should not be locked up in a warehouse!!

I don’t know if @wdwmagic can comment on this but I’m curious how serious WDW is on making this happen? As we just saw they cut the castle Dream Lights and they continue to make cuts on this and that. So IMO unless they feel it’s essential to have a nighttime parade back, it’s highly likely it will get cut. The only advantage for 2024 is that, to our knowledge, there is no entertainment in the works beyond the new Epcot show. The question is however do they feel HEA is no longer enough for MK at night? To my knowledge there have been no reports of HEA losing its popularity or MK struggling to keep guests in the park at night. So, there again the only way those in charge are going to green light a parade is if there’s a dire need for one. Sadly nothing they do now a days is without reason.
