With the Halloween and "Holiday" *parties,* the day guests don't get fireworks.

With After Hours events, the day guests do indeed get the fireworks. After Hours folks can enter early enough that they, too, get fireworks.
Has it been confirmed which will be coming to DHS?

Can I ask - do deluxe hotel extra hours happen during party season? I don't remember what night MK has the big parties that close the park early.

It followed the typical pattern (M - Epcot, Wed - MK).

They even added two DHS nights on Thursday approximately two weeks up until Christmas.

I’m really lost and confused with this theory that seeing a significant nighttime show somehow magically completes a day. No pun intended. My enjoyment in the park for my duration of being in the park is how I consider a day a success. Not if I saw a show or not?
Because that is how Disney has closed out a day for years? You literally end your night with a bang. It's like a wedding day except the kids are there and the priest isn't.

During the days when WDE ruled entertainment, and even back into Walt's time, it was common knowledge that the day always had to end with a nighttime event. Ideally, a parade and fireworks. Why? Not only because they got guests to stay longer, sped more money on merch for friends and remembrances of the trip they've had, of course not forgetting about dinner at any of Disney's restaurants or snacks from a cart or elsewhere, but also because it's simple psychoanalytics. Get the guests to see one last big show that nowhere else in the world can do, so they tell all their friends and family about it (perhaps with photos or video) so they're more likely to come, and are more willing to come back themselves. You give them something that only Disney can do, and excellently I might add, and they will associate that standard of quality and that experience with Disney, becoming more likely to return and spend cash again - or get the word of mouth moving so others will come.

You have a big nighttime show for guests to see not only because they expect it, and it benefits the company wallet (the amount of paper or vendor money a show can make is nuts), but because it fits in the structure of the ideal Disney Day. You open up the park with a performance, therefore you should close with one as well. That was the thought anyway.

Sorcery in the Sky 1990 could still hold its own today. The pre finale comets during Sorcerers Apprentice were a sight to behold when in the park (and perhaps the first in park roof launches)

Actually, I think the 100th Hat made SITS better!!! Especially the Finale!!!!!!

Not counting Mickey of course! Nothing could top that!!!
They even had Vincent Price as the show's narrator!

Meanwhile you can go to Universal for Grinchfest and it's included with your park admission.
Sea World and Busch Gardens (and Dollywood) has also been doing better Christmas offerings in recent years. Both parks even have a section dedicated to Rankin/Bass' Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer while Busch Gardens has moving angel statues. You can even meet Rudolph, Clarice, Yukon Cornelius, Bumble, and Sam the Snowman (the latter depending on the year).

Epcot still has free holiday offerings and they seem pretty great. I've only watched videos, but the different versions of "Santa" in each country that comes and tells a story is unique and charming. Is the choir show free? I forget the name.
And Animal Kingdom's offerings are free.

I get what you guys are saying, but Disney still offers a lot of holiday activities in the parks for "free".

It's definitely not the end all, be all ... but Walt said the Fireworks were his "thank you" to the guests for spending their day at his park so it is a pretty key element in having a complete Disney day experience to many

Nope. But creating a new "party night" similar to MVMCP in another park would be a big deal. Which makes me think that it will be a DAH with Christmasy add-ons, like the MK DAH that had villains theme.

plus they can keep the # of tickets down but at a higher price and promote the "super low crowds, everything is a walk on!" as a big selling point without having to really add much

We did Disney at the holidays for the first time last December and didn't do MCMCP and still felt we got a ton of holiday elements. EPCOT was a big factor with the storytellers in each countries and Candlelight Processional (we saw Josh Gad) - which is free (though they offer a dining package to guarantee a seat), plus the festival booths

AK had the Merry Menagerie which was pretty great. DHS has the decorations and the projections on ToT plus the snoap on Sunset Bvld which all felt pretty holidayish to me

shhhh…if someone in management hears “free” they’ll push it behind a paywall. Suddenly LWTL Holiday Overlay will be ILL-only

So for the most part this is basically a paid event for something that used to be free. Shocking

I’m sure the DJ will be worth it though 👀
