How would a professional reviewer write a review of a film that had major sound and picture issues? To me that would be highly unethical. If the picture is trash and it's hard to even watch, you get up and get your refund on the way out. A That would have been perfectly respectable for someone to do. Instead this person stayed through the whole event, filmed it for monetization, then went and waited in line at Guest Services for a refund after it was over. This is another false analogy. Sticking with your cinema theme, here's one that actually works:
A group of people attend a movie screening. Because of technical issues, the quality of the sound and picture is off the entire time, rendering the film difficult to enjoy. This leads a good portion of those in the audience to ask for their money back after the screening. Among these people is a reviewer who's going to get paid for his review of the movie. That's the person you're criticising for asking for a refund.
Discounting for CMs is them blowing the bridgesAny rumors of actual improvements they will make for remaining parties? Or are they just going to try to roll with this and hope that smaller crowds will make it work better?
Maybe a little, but it is now mostly standard practice to give CMs discounts to pretty much every event, even those that sell out, like Very Merry and After Hours.Interesting. Subtle acknowledgement that guest sales are sluggish?
Actually, I think it’s a good thing that they, and many others asked for a refund. Disney needs to see that this type of event is totally unacceptable. It would be wrong to not ask for a refund and let Disney think they were satisfied or they think it was worth the money. They have the right to ask for a refund, but I think it's in poor taste.
Replace “reviewer” with “YouTuber with a film-review channel”. Either way, the person paid money for the experience and has the same entitlement to a refund as everyone else. How would a professional reviewer write a review of a film that had major sound and picture issues? Exactly. They can't keep delivering these sub-par experiences and expect people to be okay with paying top dollar. It's reached a breaking point now. Gotta hit them where it hurts and in this case, it's the $$$.Actually, I think it’s a good thing that they, and many others asked for a refund. This was the opening night - and Disney didn’t even try.
That’s actually the best option. They should try the Starcruiser technique; announce it's glowing away (/not coming back) and see if you can fill up all the days.
A $10 discount is the same as AP and DVC, on dates those discounts even exists. $10 is also de minimus and I can't imagine a significant number of folks being persuaded by $10 savings.
Wow, wonder if the discounts mean they aren't making any significant changes and are just going to roll with what is there and take the money they presold, or if they will try to upgrade and use cast member word of mouth since the vloggers are mostly done and gone.
I guess I see major changes as one that fix a majority of the complaints. And I think those things you listed would take care of a lot of the complaints. No, it doesn't fix everything, but even the rosiest of the Disney vloggers mentioned these things as big issues.I can't imagine they have time for any significant changes - I do hope they add some staff and improve the logistics .... Maybe add some more theming to the Tip Top Club and Brown Derby, maybe try to have some more characters so aren't having to alternate for the meets. Add moe bars/bar staff to reduce waits.
Definitely some small and realistic changes that could be done to make it a more enjoyable experience than opening night was but likely can't really change the overall experience much
Nothing significant will change. Likely will improve the entry procedures and set up more bars. Doing what you suggested would greatly improve the overall experience.I can't imagine they have time for any significant changes - I do hope they add some staff and improve the logistics ....
