I don't know how you all were able to get refunds, here's my experience.
Called Twice.

First attempt I was transferred to three people, including three at Ticket Services, including a supervisor. No exceptions were being made for refunds and they asked a leader for an exception, non-granted.

Second attempt, I called the AP line and got transferred to ticket services again. This person took down the details and know I am getting a credit on the account for future AP renewal.

Both times they offered to hold credit on the account for future events or exchange to MVMCP. Refunds were always denied.

Oh heaven's sake, yet another loaded survey designed to elicit the positive response that they want to hear. Most people are going to opt for one of the many positive choices and not many will go for the single "No, completely not interested" one. No more than a single positive choice of "Completely loved it, it was perfect" would get amongst a sea of more negative choices.

If people are asked "Would you like this" or "Would you like more" then of course they're going to say yes. Would be more telling if an alternative was listed so people could give an informed answer, e.g.

"Would you prefer us to spend money on developing the Ollie character more or a better Tip Top Club experience?"

Just wish Disney would stop focussing on characters and ways to extract more money from people and just concentrate on providing a quaility theme park experience. Doesn't matter how much you dress him up, Ollie is not a quality theme park experience that is worth spending $200 for 4 hours on.
Is this where Floridas CP&D budget ran off to @drew81 ?

@lentesta indicated that people who wanted prospective refunds needed to do it fast. I’m guessing they’ve gotten so overwhelmed with refund requests now that the word has gotten out that:
1. This event was terrible and;
2. They were giving out refunds;

That they have tightened it up.

Absolutely. The time to ask for a refund was during the event or that evening - not when you realize you can get money back and go for free

That is generally what I am seeing people get - credit towards a future purchase (seeing most common offering is to credit towards a MVMCP) ... I think the actual $ refund was the exception and done for people asking during the event

While obviously not perfect, getting the full amount towards a future AP is at least something

Although I got a twitter notification from someone who went to the event, reviewed it for their YouTube channel, and then asked for a refund at the end. Not someone I follow... twitter is always throwing random Disney stuff at me.

But my guess is that with all the people trying to cancel and the other events not being sold out yet, future iterations of this will go a lot better.

No ill will towards Tom Vazanna, but I really got to wonder if he believed what he was selling to bloggers. I know they can do better. Disney chooses not to. Entertainment can be better. 100000x better.

More characters. Rain locations. Better crowd management. Back to back musicians. More specific offerings that are party only.

Tom Vazanna, if you read this, and I’m saying this with all sincerity, please take a look at this event from the guest’s perspective. Think about the price point and what guests are getting. I believe you somewhat care and I wish you’d fight more for exclusive offerings- or even better Christmas offerings for daily ops.

And Tom, the only reason the characters had those size of lines is because those were the only characters in the park. Yeah, Max is fun but you act like he’s party exclusive. He’s not. And Fandaze debuted the better outfit too.

given they have a week between the first one and the second one, it will be interesting to see how much they can adjust

I would think at a minimum they would have more bartenders and stuff like that. Hopefully some more theming at the lounges, hopefully fix the IT issue with the brown derby notification, etc.

There are larger issues, but I think even a number of small changes/improvements could go a long way to at least making the experience more enjoyable (even if still not worth the cost)

I'm sure it's been covered many times in this thread, but my assumption also for the first event like this is that there would be a train of vloggers ordering "one of each" at every stand so they can review the offerings. I agree that they should try for more servers if possible to just help the lines flow.

Did they do the Oga's 45-minute deal at Brown Derby? If not I imagine some people would have parked in there also.

The biggest adjustment here might be to guest expectations.

Sounds very unethical. Get your YouTube money based on going to the event and being able to produce a monetized video, and then ask Disney for your money back...or even accept money back from Disney. Nice little scheme

Why is it unethical to ask for your money back for a dud event?

This is your shtick. Nobody can have an opinion, everybody is bought.
Not everyone. But if you watch enough of these vlogs and aspiring influencers that rely on access for continued views and relevancy, you’d see they are repeatedly uniformly positive.

I have a lot more faith in what those who are not on the media lists say than those who are on them.

Put simply, I find Len Testa to be far more reliable to give an honest opinion than Paging Mr Morrow or his Very Online ilk.
