Just an observation from the last few nights, but it looks like they finally ran out of Heart of Te Fiti/Moana swirl fireworks — which were leftovers from HEA’s run. I doubt they’re gonna return.

I previously commented on this, but seems like the Moana swirl fireworks are back (as of Saturday night)! I’m actually surprised they returned.

They never went away during HEA’s time, so it going away in DE could’ve only meant that the excess supply from HEA’s run ran out — but seems like they’re continuing them, which is good! The more custom shape fireworks, the better..

We watched Enchantment tonight for the first time since October 1. We really weren’t fans of it the first time but liked it much better tonight. I think it helped being on Main Street so we could see the projections this time as we were in Liberty Square/Frontierland the first time. HEA is still the better show, though.

Fair. I had unfair expectations. I just expected for it to be more than just merch. Or for the merch to be just regular Disney prices, not overpriced for Disney. It's hard to have a 50th celebration with no parade. And as a local, I despise genie+.

It's hard to be positive about it right now. I love going to the parks, but my renewal is up this month and I'm struggling with what to do. My platinum pass would be $370 more this year. Vs pre-covid, it's up 40% and lost photopass, fastpass, and the ability to "just go" any day. It's hard to feel the magic with that kind of increase.

I don't mean to bum you guys out. There are still lots of wonderful things about Disney world. Like the African drummers are back in Harambe.
Don’t renew- resist! Universal and sea world want YOU, your friends, and your money. Disney does not. They just want your money, but only when there isn’t someone else with more money who could be in the park.

I don’t think I ever posted that I did finally see DE. I liked the opening. I liked the pyro.
I didn’t like the transitions between songs, the sloppy projections on the castle, or the re-recorded audio of the songs.

I saw harmonious last week for the first time as well. What stuck out to me is it just feels like DE lacks attention to detail. Where harmonious did get me singing along and smiling(even if I was thinking about how it felt like the wrong park for the show), DE never captured me like that.
I do have to wonder if some of my draw to harmonious is because the songs bring back memories of HEA despite being in another language. But then I wonder - doesn’t that just highlight how the ORIGINAL songs(even if dubbed in another language) create deeper connection? I really think that’s the big miss with DE

It won't make a difference. Someone else will buy my spot if I don't. And I still get enjoyment out of it for $67 a month. Honestly for that rate, as long as I go once every two months I'm breaking even. Not to mention parking and discounts.

I'm curious what your breaking point is? We used to go once-a-year to once-every-2-years. So, we're bit on-mission on our trips (out-of-state). We were ready to go in 2019 but had to get a kid off to college. So, 2020 was going to be the year. We're sitting out 2021 and likely 2022 due to no live entertainment. The Trolley Show and Citizens of Hollywood are some of our favorites. Scheduled DLR in 2020 only to have that cancelled. Now, they're in the same boat regarding live entertainment. On top of that the whole mask debate has us turned off. Maybe Dollywood for 2022. Maybe Hawaii. Both would be much cheaper trips.

Glad you're enjoying your visits to WDW!

If we were out of state I don't think we'd be coming now. We're within a 20 minute drive, so it doesn't take much to make a visit "worth it". Honestly if I see a tiger playing in a fountain and get a ride on expedition everest with less than a 10 minute wait it's a winning trip for me. I can't remember the last time we spent more than a couple hours in a park at WDW.

But in terms of a breaking point - we downgraded from platinum as $97/month is nauseating. Happy to lose two weeks to save $350. That price was absurd. If they hadn't had a decent option at a similar price to what we had last year, we may have been out.

Watched this a few times since I was at BLT was week. Thought the show was fine. Hearing Night on Bald Mountain was a treat. Into the Unknown was a pretty neat segment too. Rest of the show kinda blurred together because of how much the other songs were used in literally every other thing on property.

And yes, swirly Moana fireworks were there:

Personally, I need them to stop using A Night on Bald Mountain…there are other scary options!

I still vote for a new DAH in 2022 with HEA and some type of parade. No reason they couldn’t do this, except the risk of backlash from day guests who wouldn’t get their moneys worth by shorter hours. Tickets would surely sell out.

I think it’s probably used a lot because it stands alone well. While the heroes often get power ballads with generic themes about courage, adventure, love, etc., songs from villains tend to be more expository and specific to the film narrative. Obviously, there are exceptions, but that’s my two cents.

Hellfire, be prepared, pirates movie theme are go tos. I feel like you could scarify the Playing Card March from Alice into something good too.

Apparently, while the uber fans were critical of the show in October, more traditional visitors have settled in since then and DE’s guest satisfaction numbers are strong. Wouldn’t be surprised to see that used to keep this show here indefinitely.

Well as we know, many guests are just going to be happy with anything happening. So this doesn't come as a surprise unfortunately.
