Did they say specifically why they didn't like it? Was it the pacing? Soundtrack? Storyline? Either way this is kind of heartbreaking but gives hope for an eventual HEA return (with MSUSA projections perhaps?).Had some comments from people who have seen the show from inside the park - not very favorable so far.
I'm gonna cry for hours if Fantasmic is the only good nighttime show we'll have lol.Don’t worry y’all. Fantasmic! will return in February* and save the 50th anniversary celebration.
*year unknown
Those who comment about the show are complained about storyline. They didn't like the fireworks that based of Disney films in the wake of 50th anniversary show, they want an anniversary nighttime spectacular that based on attractions/e-ticket rides past and present in the resort like DL's Remember Dreams Come True.Did they say specifically why they didn't like it? That doesn't mean though that it's a bad show - just maybe not the right show for the 50th. Hoping it's at least a good show. Those who comment about the show are complained about storyline. So from what I understanding, it's not that the show is bad, it's just not what was expected? If that's the biggest problem then for me personally I think the show might still be okay considering the fact that I've kinda accepted that it's not going to be exactly like HEA and it's not going to be the type of park-dedicated show I thought it was going to be. It'll be something new and unfamiliar and I'm okay with that. Those who comment about the show are complained about storyline. The complaints (from what I'm gathering at least) seem to be less about the actual quality of the show and more so not meeting expectations for what people thought the anniversary show was gonna be about (the actual park it's inside of). I still have hope for Enchantment because like you said, someone would have to try REALLY hard to mess up an MK show. And to think, between this show and Harmonious most would have bet on this being the sure thing. It takes talent to disappoint with a MK fireworks show. There might have been some weak moments in the 'party special' shows over the years, but the regular shows - FitS, Wishes, HEA... have never drawn serious criticism.
Too late to wish for a 50th anniversary reboot of Fantasy in the Sky?
If i choose between Enchantment or Harmonious i will choose Harmonious because despite it also celebrate Disney's films, the nighttime spectacular will still have classic films and all of them are more relevant to respective countries. Most of Harmonious song will also done in their native languages (ex. Chinese language for Mulan song)The complaints (from what I'm gathering at least) seem to be less about the actual quality of the show and more so not meeting expectations for what people thought the anniversary show was gonna be about (the actual park it's inside of). I do miss Fantasy in the Sky. Wonder if there's any word on if that will be turning for this years New Years party.
Well, they said something about them being from Disneyland so maybe they just didn't do their research? I've seen complaints from people regarding the HarmonioUS barges and why they weren't being used during Epcot Forever. Sometimes, people's expectations are high (as they should be) for Disney but set in the wrong place. I seriously question how some people can spend hundreds of (perhaps thousands of) dollars to go to a theme park yet do little to no research on what exactly they'll be experiencing. How on earth did anybody go into the show, watch it, and then get disappointed that it didn't have a lot to do with the parks?
They already told us what the show was about and it is very clear that it will not be about the parks. It's about second rate Pixar / Disney movies designed around selling Disney + subscriptions. Heck at those point I'd be shocked if Mandalorian is Not in this show.
HarmonioUS will no doubt be better than Enchantment. If i choose between Enchantment or Harmonious i will choose Harmonious because despite it also celebrate Disney's films, the nighttime spectacular will still have classic films and all of them are more relevant to respective countries. I think HarmonioUS requires a Disney+ subscription in order to watch it though /sHarmonioUS will no doubt be better than Enchantment.
I suspect you’re correct. Steve was well aware of what the content would be. This feels like a criticism of show quality.I don't think @wdwmagic was saying the complaints were due to content but to overall show quality -- maybe he will clarify. Someone else came in and said the complaints were about the content.
Was just gonna ask this. I noticed that for the HarmonioUS description page (you know, with all the corporate talk about how great the show will be and all) laser effects were specifically mentioned. For Enchantment, they aren't mentioned which is... Concerning.I have a question. Will lasers be included in Enchantment? I disappointed to see lasers gone in the last months of HEA.

An insider, at least for Fantasmic!, previously said the lasers for F! were not working/down and were awaiting for a fix and repair from the manufacturer. So I wonder if it’s the same case here for HEA and EF.Was just gonna ask this. We took them for granted back in the day, but the lack of lasers create a noticeable gap in lightning effects when you know what these shows looked like before the lasers were removed.
Could possibly be the same case. Though in the case of HEA and EF, I feel like 11 months of inactivity and 3 in a half months of activity would provide more than enough time for repairs on the laser effects but some other issue could be happening that I am not aware of.An insider, at least for Fantasmic!, previously said the lasers for F! were not working/down and were awaiting for a fix and repair from the manufacturer. But we have seen lasers in testing already for Harmonius, so..
