What? Didn't all DLP get is a short drone show & hub parade/stage show? It's not even close to the 60th imo.
You're right; I forgot PTN was part of the 60th since it's been so long since we've seen it grace Main Street. Also had the awful taste of WoC Celebrate in my mind when I wrote this.

Regardless, still think the drone show is big bonus points in my book. It's wild that Dollywood's done a drone show before a Disney park in the states.

I believe once it’s loaded it can’t be unloaded and has to be fired.

It seems to be the MK way? They will often shoot it off later in the night. Not sure if that always happens?

Disneyland has their shows cancelled all the time, and they can’t just shoot it off later… so they must have a way to keep it safe until the next show?

I heard that on One Little Spark but IDK if they said what was the first time...

Good luck getting footage if doesn't stop Storming!!!!

I'm guessing Harm was canceled as well??? What does Epcot do with that Pyro???
Cancellation of fireworks shows have been rare for WDW (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios), because it was located outside residential areas. So, why no just showing projection without fireworks like HEA was on August 31 last year.

Have this happened at Disneyland, it can be cancelled more prequently, even during no rain.

I wasn’t all that impressed at the DLP 30th, honestly. Drone show is cool. But even bad WDW fireworks are still the best Disney fireworks. And opening Rat, Cosmic Rewind, Tron, and Fantasmic! during the celebration is nothing to shake a stick at.

50th food offerings are also much better than the stuff at DLP.

Sounding like F! will make the 50th, but Tron??????

Have not heard a clear Date Rumor. No Offense, I know nothing, I'm not an Insider.

Wish MK would move on Tron Walkways.......
Then I’ll be clear: I plan to ride in December, although I’ll probably have to pay to do so…it doesn’t have Cosmic Rewind’s capacity! Maybe the height requirement and intensity will limit guest interest a bit?

I think it will be wildly popular as it looks cool and it's a new coaster at Magic Kingdom, which seems to be exciting for people. :D
I doubt people will like it as much as they seem to like GOTG, but I also think this one has less of a chance of people feeling sick, so that might attract some coaster shy people.
I think planning to pay for it will be the easiest way to get on it for a while.

I'm excited to ride it, but personally Space Mountain will still probably be our favorite there. Hurtling through the dark still makes us laugh after all this time.

from afar it just seems like the DLP 30th put more effort into the logo and the characters that were out and unique merchandise and some other little special things.

Now, it might be more that WDW 50th just set the bar so low that the DLP 30 looks great by comparison

I agree on the look from afar. In person, DLP’s celebration felt a bit hollow to me. Part of it is a severe lack of CMs. If you think WDW is understaffed, don’t go to DLP! We loaded ourselves onto Pinocchio!

The new intro is nice but a year too late; putting lipstick on a pig in my opinion. Valiant effort though, and I appreciate the work the ad hoc team did for the new intro as it is quite nice to see WDW get the nostalgia treatment.

DLP's entertainment offerings for the 30th almost even puts Disneyland's 60th to shame. I'm frothing at the mouth to get those drones to a stateside park soon.

Edited after remembering Paint the Night. 😂

Yep. Why they didn't have a clue about doing this before October 1 a year ago is inexplicable.

Granted, I've only been to DLP once, in 2018, but I've seen some of DLP's 30th stuff in video form... I don't know if we can be friends anymore. ;) 😂 (Before anyone gets their undies in a bunch - I'm kidding! )

I think the aforementioned line is appropriate for this DE update - Lipstick on a pig.

Drones make for a good show, but I don't think they are as good as fireworks.
Fireworks are dynamic, always a little bit different and just more exciting, even the booms. More kinetic energy than a drone show.

Drones look cool, but the re-watchability factor for me is kind of low.

Drones can complement fireworks, they don't have to replace 'em. DLP was able to do this during their special Bastille Day fireworks show.

I was there, and it was amazing. Imagine if WDW did something with drones right before Tink flies.

You are absolutely correct. Having worked several local fireworks shows as fire protection, once loaded, they need to be fired. It's a safety thing.

Can I ask you how Disneyland handles? As their shows get cancelled all summer long due to winds, and they do not fire them off again until the next possible showing.

They fire them off the next night instead, that’s how I got to see Halloween Screams on a Saturday night instead of Remembef Dreams Come True, the issue is there is a Halloween Party tonight, they cannot shoot off Enhancement they have to do Spooktacular.

Was DE Pyro ever fired last night?? Haven't seen any reports. If not what would that do to Not So Spooky tonight??? Will it have DE Pyro????
