It's amazing how just that little tribute to the resort's history elevates the show. I also find it interesting how they have tried to retrofit a way of making "You Are the Magic" not seem so cringe-inducing by having Mickey reframe it as being that guests bring the magic to WDW. Honestly, a very good job to the team involved in trying to fix this for however long it may have left.

It boggles my mind that it took public outcry for Disney to acknowledge Disney World...in Disney World...during the golden anniversary...of Disney World. If that isn't a clear indication of how out of touch current leadership is, I don't know what is. I hope a lesson is learned from this, however small. Oh, and the guests, including myself, are most certainly NOT the magic. That is the most kooky concept ever. They're arguably the worst part of Disney vacation nowadays. I refuse to believe the guy I just saw spit on a CM, or a couple using racial slurs at World Showcase CM's is what makes WDW special. If anything, it's the cast members who have to deal with them daily!

So, basically, I need to actually fight the fireworks crowd again instead of hightailing it past the poor souls ten minutes beforehand?

(I'm, of course, kidding: I'll only stick around for the intro. Any headstart is a headstart. )

Imagine the possibilities of a Disney100 intro that segues into Jordan Fisher singing “ready to begin, let the wonder take hold.”
To be honest, when I saw DL First, I thought this was Disney100! Was Walt really looking at FL during The World's Fair or after ????

Would be nice if MK got a After Show Tag for the 100th! It could use more Launch Spot., Maybe HEA, DE or Whatever could use them too!

I was there October 1 a year ago. While it was wonderful to be there 50 years to the day, it certainly didn't feel nostalgic. Upon entering MK, what do I see? People standing in queues to buy stuff. Sigh. . . Then you get to the fireworks that night and nothing about the history of Walt Disney World. Instead, "You are the magic." Well, if that is the case, why am I in Magic Kingdom?

Yeah, "You are the magic" is insulting. The magic is the culmination of decades of hard work from imagineers, composers, horticulturist, cast members, entertainment, ect. It's not the lady I saw screaming in the lobby of the Grand in her bath robe demanding to know why she was locked out of her room at 2pm when check out is at 11, or the guy I saw stop underneath the train station entrance at 8:45 am to spray his entire family with sunscreen creating a roadblock in the worst possible location.

That was really well done!

I wish instead of You Are the Magic as the song for Enchantment, they used the other song - The Magic is Calling - instead. A much better song.
But I suppose it's too upbeat and not emotional enough for a fireworks show. But it always makes us dance when we hear it!

(why do people like to cry at fireworks shows anyways? I don't. 😂 )

They could use The Magic is Calling as the second exit music for Enchantment, either before or after You Are the Magic. However, Disney decided to use the former as an exit music for Harmonious instead

Follow Us To WDW ended with just about the same message....Do we hate that too?????

The only thing we should be complaining about is where was last night on Oct 1st 2021??????

A great arranger would be able to make something upbeat into something emotional. Here are some examples from DLP’s 30th:

Original track:

Disney D-Light (arranged by Rick McKee):

Follow the Light (opening ceremony for 30th Anniversary AP Party; Arranger unknown - Rick confirmed in a deleted Youtube comment that it wasn’t him who did the arrangement):

Combined arrangement of both tracks for the Eiffel Tower lighting:
