News 'Disney Enchantment' coming to Magic Kingdom October 1 2021

Well many people need at eat crow here. I’ll go first. I never thought HEA was a certainty to return, but didn’t think they would invest more funds into Enchantment and I was quite certain it wasn’t sticking around post 50th. On the surface, I’m sort of excited about Enchantment v2 (anything Walt and Roy is exactly what what we needed all along) and I’m guessing this upgrade will run through the 100th. Why make the change and kill it in April?

But that thread where many people believed that Walt is disappearing from “Walt Disney World” should eat the biggest crow plate.

They can fix Enchantment during the 50th celebration. Take example from Illuminations 25, they returned classical songs that hasn't part of the original show as well as replacing circle of life with new finale classical song (Ode to Joy), but still as part of the 25th anniversary of WDW and happens on May 19, 1997.

I’m not saying this won’t run during the 100th or that HEA will still come back. But I don’t think this has necessarily anything to do with either…yet.

It is very, very much a Walt Disney World intro and I expect we will see it before D23.

They're testing DE with some clips of Walt in the beginning. So could be a 100th anniversary tag (or the 50th tag we should've gotten).

Testing ended around 1am;
so basically DE started to play then got interrupted in which different clips of Walt started playing. After a couple mins of that it returned to DE and continued to the end. Fireworks and pyro were added to the beginning. Rest of the show looked the same. Finale wasn't plussed in any major way either, but minor changes.

This is a very inexpensive change and believe it or not, we’re only halfway through the 50th.

I am in the crowd that desperately wants HEA to make a return but I see this as a very positive change. For the longest people complained about Enchantment not relating to the history of the park and I've seen so many comments like "it should have had Walt in it".

Him AND Roy seem to be in the show now and people still complain.

I'm happy with any positive change to the show considering the fact that I don't see it running for too much longer. Once it ends, it might as well go out with a bang.

Well, if this debuts quietly with no announcement prior to D23, possibly even this week, I would say ignore it entirely as it may pertain to next year.

I strongly believe it’s most likely an attempt to fix Enchantment for the second half of the 50th celebration which has received a ton of criticism.

What Crow????? We have absolutely no clue on what TDO is doing!!!!!! We can't even get a F! Date or Rehearsal Reports out of TDO or the Insiders!!! ( No Offense to the Insiders, but it's been quiet for a little while.....)

If this is for the 100th or the 50th Finale. Wouldn't MK Market this a little???

Honestly, I think this is a sign that HEA is returning.

Hear me out: DE is not a 50th show. But if they recently decided to bring back HEA well then now it is a 50th show. And now we can add 50th stuff.
They are not going to run DE again without this intro. And this intro doesn’t make sense after the 50th.

The intro is very WDW origins/history focused. Not company history focused. It’s not impossible that they’d run this during the 100th but it would be a little odd; especially considering how low budget it appears.

I also think they are essentially officially turning Enchantment into a “50th” show which can then be easily excused later when it’s retired.

Which begs the question....Why didn't MK have this insight last Fall????? COVID Worries???? HEA and EF didn't look too Bad after COVID...

If anything would have gotten I25 B treatment I thought it would be Harm, Not Enchantment........

Seeing Walt at the beginning of the show would certainly be emotional.
Hopefully it would be paired with When You Wish Upon a Star (sung by Jiminy himself).

We'll see how this plays out and I still like the 9PM Enchantment last night but............Whsy does Enchantment look more like the rightful 50th Show After Hours??????? First the CM Parties and now, last night! I don't get it!!!!!

Survey responses stated guests were disappointed there was nothing special or specific to the actual 50th in the new show that premiered for the 50th. Also nothing celebrating or mentioning Walt. So there’s that…

That other Site is Breaking that this is Additions to Enchantment for WDW 50th and we should see it soon...

Of course, no Conformation from MK or DPB so how do we really know????
