Disney Cruises through Costco

Interestingly enough they are in the town next to the one I grew up in...I will e-mail them since I made my reservation a week ago and see what they say...I've never used a TA before. I don't need to pay them? They'll really just do it for the credits they get?

It does not cost additional to use a TA. Basically, when you book directly with DCL you are giving the travel agent commission portion of your cruise fare to Disney's own travel company. When you book using a TA like DisneyJoe's agency or Kingdom Konsultants the bit that would've gone to Disney's travel company goes to the agency you book with. Costco, AAA, these big companies have their own travel agencies. When they are giving you onboard credits it's like Joe said. They're giving you back some of the money as a thank you that was paid to them by Disney for booking you.

So when I just cruised on the Fantasy I had $200 from DCL as my onboard booking credit PLUS $150 from KK as their thank you gift to me. We don't always get these stacked onboard credits but when we do it's really nice!

Well, it's only $50 credit for a 4-nighter, but I guess that's better than nothing...it's a 1/3 of Remy!

When the reservation is transferred after debarkation, the Travel Agency's commission is reduced by DCL; so KK may have different OBC policy for transferred reservations. I don't know if they do or not, but as someone else mentioned, you should contact them about it.

Now THAT I didn't know! Makes sense, tho! Definitely for future reference you should always alwaaaaays book with a good TA (I think we've definitely got more than 1 here) and when you book onboard be sure to have it assigned to your TA from the get-go. Nobody told me any of that. I sorta stumbled over the info before our first cruise. ;)

Yeah, all OBCs are less when it's the shorter cruises and, sometimes, depending on stateroom category. Talk to whatever TA you are interested in and ask them about all this stuff. I know it's not a lot but sometimes the OBCs can justify a little piece of the price to sail in an upgraded category from your norm. Ya know? I'm always weighing every penny I can. Every bit means something to me. I figure I gotta stay on this stuff if I want to keep cruising so much, right?

So, if I book on the cruise, do I still get their credits plus something back from KK?

Yes, but you need to tell them to assign it to KK when you book is what I'm gathering because if you do it after the commission to KK is less. That's what I think I'm understanding... :D

If I have it assigned to KK during my booking on board the ship, am I precluded from making my own port adventures or dinner reservations? As I stated earlier, I would only to do it to get them credit and me the credits because we don't need a TA.

No, the only thing you could not do is make any payments or name changes on the reservation.

KK told me they can only do on-board credits if you make the initial reservation through them and that I'd have to cancel my reservation and re-make it through them...for $50 I think I'll have to pass on the hassle that is...

Again, ya'll are so nice. I'm so excited to be cool. :)

I've got like 15 minutes left of my 45 minutes of free wifi at Heathrow. :D I'll try to sum up booking cruises through Kingdom Konsultants for you, but I may miss something. Just ask if this creates more questions.

We don't charge fees at all. Booking through us is the same price as booking through Disney. Disney pays us for each booking. Essentially they lose a little money every time someone uses a travel agent. Disney (and other companies) recognize that travel agents bring them business so it's worth it to them.

As a side note, Disney also doesn't allow anyone to discount their cruises. If you see a company advertising Disney cruises for less, look closer. Something is amiss. Some agencies used to hold group booking chunks and clients could save money that way, but Disney (Cruise Line) has discontinued group bookings.

Kingdom Konsultants offers onboard credits as a thank you to clients for booking through us. Yes, we are giving you back some of our commission.

If you rebook onboard and name us at the time of rebooking, you can get our onboard credit and the rebooking benefits from Disney. It's very easy to do. Disney has a place on the form to fill in an agent or agencies name. If you don't name us and change your mind within 30 days, you can transfer your reservation to us.

Disney can transfer any reservations made with them (onboard, online or on the phone) to an agency if it's done within 30 days of the booking. We do lose part of our comission when that happens, so the onboard credit from us may be reduced.

If you're outside of 30 days of booking, the only option is to cancel and rebook. If the price hasn't gone up, it' s pretty painless process. If it's gone up, then of course it may not be worth it. Even for our excellent service. :D

Once you've booked with us, you can still see everything about your reservation online. You can book your own excursions, order gifts, etc. If you want us to handle that part, that's what we're here for. We want to make this easy for you.

We have to do everything involving payments, but that's as easy as sending an email saying - "Tammy, pay $500 today with the card on file."
