Disney considering making more themed mod resort rooms (with pics and proof)

Looks great, and another way for Disney to drum up additional revenue. And, why not? There are plenty of fans who love the attractions and would be willing to pay an extra few bucks a night, so add a few of these across each resort and offer them.

This is interesting though, because it appears to be bringing the concept to a Moderate or lesser resort. The Disneyland Hotel has been offering a Pirates themed suite for several years, and it's booked solid (because I was stupid enough to ask if it was available this summer for a visit from young nephews).

The Disneyland Hotel also has a mod Mickey Mouse Penthouse for rent nightly

And of course all the assorted Princess Suites that have been popular for a few years. But those are all top-dollar accomodations, usually a two-bedroom suite with living room and dining room/kitchen. This is totally different as it seems to just take a standard room and dress it up in different themes. It's a brilliant idea, really. I wonder what the price premium would be over getting one of these themed rooms over a regular double-queen room?

The Pirate rooms are at CBR as reported..they have sold well so the Royal Rooms will go into Riverside Mansions...and HM Rooms will go to French Quarter.....Look for one more additional room style (Most likely WESTERN IN NATURE) for the Coronado Springs Resort

Not old, just vintage.
Where do I sign up for that HM room? If this were to ever happen I would hope they would make the furniture look a little but less like it came out of Mickey's Country House though. I do love those Doom Buggy beds. They can keep the princess room however. The decor is gaudy and bordering on hideous. :dazzle: I hate whoever decided encasing a room in gold = princess.

Don't know what your sources are, but if that is even remotely true it makes me happy. POFQ is already my favorite resort. Adding HM rooms to it would only make it better.

Those themed look really cool, but I am sure Disney will not make them cheap. I would like to stay a night or two in one of those rooms.

I'm sure they'll be on par with the current themed moderate rooms, which is about $5 more than a water view or king bed room.

I really dig that Haunted Mansion room... I don't suppose there is much chance for a Horizons or Journey Into Imagination themed room, is there? :D *sigh*

Cool rooms but I'm not sure I'd like the idea of the disruption in theming from the resort they are at to the inside of the room. Part of what makes a Disney resort so nice is the continuity of the resorts' theme. How would a Haunted Mansion theme fit in cohesively from the grounds of any existing resort? I think the existing pirates room are a bit of a stretch in the Caribbean Beach resort.

They should save all these "themed" rooms for a new resort themed to Disney attractions. Once the other half of Pop Century "Legendary" is built as a "no longer Pop Century" animation resort, they could re-theme the Pop Century Classic Years to Disney attractions. It would fit being right beside the animation resort. Forget the decades thing - it dates itself to become obsolete alot quicker than the other Disney resorts. More and more people will not be familiar with the 50's, 60's and soon 70's.

Haunted Mansion room is so cool!

I'm sure many fans would love to stay in that room. I would. But it should be in the moderate resorts.
