Disney confirms 'Frozen' makeover coming to Epcot's Norway Pavilion

I do not support the removal of Maelstrom, but if Disney had removed the tents and built a Frozen area in MK people would definitely complain about funds not going to other areas. We as society love to complain about anything we can. The only way to not get complaints would have been to build a new Frozen land at the same time as building new countries in WS, Avatar land, SW land and Toy Story land. Not that I would have been opposed to getting all of that.

Yes, you will always find some people who will complain about anything, but I think there would be far fewer complaints if this had gone into MK.

Just wonder where the heck all the strollers will go, Akershus already required ample stroller parking due to the princess dining, now a ride which will draw a 2nd fleet of strollers and the meet and greet a 3rd fleet. So I assume from China to Mexico will be nothing but the horror seen outside Mickey's Philharmagic at the MK only exponentially worse? Combined with an already unknown queue situation? Guess I'll be riding the friendship to Germany.

My worry too. Showcase Prom was already a mess around Norway. If I can't get my favourite spot for RoE there will be strollers a swimmin'...

While I agree that this wasn't the ideal situation, had they waited until DHS phase 3, most of the people now complaining about Frozen in WS would be complaining about Disney's inability to capitalize on the popularity of the film in a timely manner.
Which is why I said bring over DCA's big new show that's replacing Aladdin before the ride would be done.
Oh yeah. Or, if it went in DHS, they'd say, "Oh, DHS is now the Any IP That's Popular Park! Frozen should really go in the Magic Kingdom!" And if it DID go in the Magic Kingdom- "Magic Kingdom doesn't NEED Frozen or anything new! What they should be doing is focusing on the other parks to take some pressure off of MK!"
Point one, that's actually what I've been wanting. DHS could benefit from the Universal model of hot IP based attractions everywhere.

Point two, yes that would be partly true but we wouldn't really care that much. Notice how no one brings this up with the Frozen ride going to Disneyland rather than DCA, the park that would benefit more from it?

Personally, I think Disneyland is the wrong park for both SWL and Frozen. For some reason, Frozen doesn't sit well with me being in FL... I think it has to do with it being CG Animated. To me, FL is for the classic 2D animated stuff.

And in what 2000-seat theater would they have put that? Can DHS even put on shows on par with Anaheim's without the talent-pool of actors?

And Disneyland vs DCA isn't really the same comparison at all when you consider the amount of parkhopping APholders in california and the fact that the walk from spaceship earth to american adventure is almost twice as long than the walk from hyperion theater to sleeping beauty castle. There's still more to do at DCA than at Epcot, DHS, or AK.

Pretty sure that's a moot point when part of Fantasyland's whole schtick is turning those films into three dimensional experiences. An Elsa figure would be no different from an Alice, Snow White or Peter Pan figure.

In Orlando at least, I think it would've been cool to have a second animation type area over at DHS in Animation Courtyard, but fill it with rides from Frozen, Wreck-it Wralph, Big Hero 6, etc.

I don't think anyone would complain if the circus tents went away, and a purpose built proper Frozen ride and mini land were built... absolutely no one... I don't think people are on here to just complain about anything...but maybe short sighted decisions that don't make sense in the long run...

I think this is a great idea, but for the record, I would complain cause I'm a Jerky McJerkatron and I now have this post filed away in ye olde memory banks.

The operational ride area - and queue - is marginally increased. Hardly an enlarged pavilion for that side of things.

Next door has bigger potties and two meet n greet rooms. It will have no impact on the inadequate ride capacity.

And a store.

I see they're finally acknowledging the increased waist band circumference of the typical guest.

Point one: A new theater could always be built but since Disney constructs things slower than a snail (how long has it been since BLT closed before work actually started on its replacement, hm?) I guess you have a point.

Point two: DL still crushes DCA in attendance and that will only increase with SWL and Frozen. There is a problem balancing crowds out there but still we have Frozen in Fantasyland where it's a much better fit than the crapfest in WDW.

Does anyone know when each new day is 'unlocked' to reserve fastpasses a month in advance, because I wasn't allowed to book Frozen at or after midnight on the east coast (pre-4 am), and now come 3 pm, they're sold out.

I believe it is 7 am for an east coaster!

Frozen has absolutewly no connection to Wreck It Ralph or Big Hero 6... Frozen would play much better in s Fantasyland setting... The other two have a COMPLETELY different tone... I agree Big Hero 6 and Wrech It Ralph could fit well in DHS...but Frozen really belongs in a castle park...it just fits there.
