Old people = wanna be back in 1982!....isn't there a back to the future ride at universal? I don't think they have tons of characters walking around every corner there

Can't recall anyone here saying they "wanna be" back anywhere. Just that they'd prefer EP not be overwhelmed with characters or character-based attractions....

Another park where Frozen is not a thematic fit...
At least DHS is about entertainment and movies so Frozen does fit better there than it does in Epcot. If Disneys plan was to demo animation courtyard and use some of the Backlot land near there as well as some land behind Sunset Blvd. for a real Frozen land you wouldn't see me complaining at all. To me I think DHS would work great with the same model USF is going with right now: great new rides/lands based on well known and successful IP. Hollywood and Sunset Blvd. would remain to keep that old Hollywood feel and from there you would walk into the worlds of the movies (Star Wars, Pixar, Frozen, etc.)

EPCOT without characters would be boring!!!! Snoozefest!!!!

Agreed. I wouldn't go to Epcot if not for the characters, personally. And I think a lot of families with kids feel the same way. Adding characters helps get families into the park. Otherwise, Epcot would probably be the least visited of the four. And with the addition of Frozen? They are going to see massive ticket sales at Epcot. Yes, thematically, Frozen would be better at MK. But this is a good business decision as far as getting people to visit Epcot. :)

Well, I just heard news of disney bringing back FSF to DHS, also Frozen is going to be in F&G this year.

Maybe I shouldn't get my APs renewed.. Seems like when my passes go out is when they're removing Hiro and Baymax so.

Well, I see we have a fine picked troll here.

IMO having Meet & Greets with characters in their respective countries is fine. But, taking over a historical pavilion for some snow princess queen thing? A nope in my book.

I'd be just as upset if they put bh6 in japan, Bh6 takes place in San Fransokyo, not actually Tokyo.

Plenty visited EP before the character infusion. Plenty still visit without participating in character interactions. And that included families as well....

While I think avatar land could work if done right how has disney dropped the ball so long with no lion king attraction or even land at the animal kingdom? Build it with pride rock and people would FLIP.

I completely agree. It would be much more popular and it certainly would fit into AK better than Cameron's concoction. It's interesting that out of all the recent 3-D theatrical re-releases, only The Lion King, an "old" traditionally-animated film, was an unqualified hit. It even triumphed over the Pixar 3-D offerings. People flat-out LOVE the Lion King, and yet there's no dark ride, just an overrated (IMO) stage show. If anything deserves its own land in AK, The Lion King does. But of course Iger doesn't realize that, because he has little regard for Disney classics. He thinks they're old-hat and not popular enough, which is why he looked outside of the studio for a Potter-swatter. The idiot.

It fits better but I still don't think its the best fit, not unless they were to get serious about expanding and improving Animation Courtyard.

The best, natural fit for Frozen is Magic Kingdom. Disney said they have room left from the Fantasyland Expansion so dig out Marc Davis' designs for the long-abandoned Snow Queen attraction and go from there.

Obviously its hard to see what the plan is for DHS going forward and what the finished product will be. If they want to celebrate Hollywood and use Frozen then do it as part of a larger land than charts the history of Walt Disney Animation Studios as a whole, the same as I think they should do with Pixar. I don't think a full-fledged Frozen land is the answer, not in that park anyway.

That says a lot about the parenting skills of those families.

I think the constantly booked restaurants and the very long lines at Soarin and Test Track would disagree with you. Also, Disneys large demographic of first time visitors have no idea what is in the parks. They just know Epcot has the 'big golf ball'. Characters are much cheaper than adding quality attractions so Disney pacifies guests with them and in return the guests defend the cheapness simply for a lack of not knowing any better.
