Disney confirms 'Frozen' makeover coming to Epcot's Norway Pavilion

Or they could experience the ride as it is, and learn about some of the culture and mythos of the land on which it's based.

But no, they'll get a dumbed down toy commercial bereft of any educational or cultural value. A cheap movie tie in that has nothing to do with Norway or EPCOT Center.

There is a place for moronic cartoon rides and cheap toy commercials. That place has a castle in front of it and caters to the mini van drones on leave from their little boxes on the hillside.

Wow, why are you even in this site?

On here I am, no doubt. With the general public that goes to WDW I would guess the opposite is true.
Abandoning the core values of a creative enterprise can very much have immediate rewards, but doing so always causes far worse long term damage to the organization and the creative products. The costs to fix the EPCOT Center will be far greater than the rewards gained from this destruction.

More play to the lowest common denominator, and the dumbing down of Epcot. What happens in a year when people completely forget about Frozen?

Heck they have an entire ride at MK based on a movie 99% of the people who go to the park have never seen and it's considered a classic. I personally think Frozen is locked in as a classic Disney movie for the next decade at least. It's every bit the movie that Little Mermaid is and that movie is still going strong today. :)

The Facebook responses on Disney's page are awesome. Probably 99% angry and complaining. I hope Disney is paying attention.

You are correct, extremely rare. Although I do occasionally need my Carousel of Progress and Space Mountain fix.

I can understand that SM need :)

Because I love EPCOT, or at least what it used to be before they decided that the adults couldn't even have one park.

I don't have a problem with MK, it serves its purpose. There used to be a clearly defined difference between them. But now MK is taking over my beloved EPCOT and I feel pretty raw about it.

I don't go to MK expecting anything adult-oriented (with the exception of CoP), or complain that there's too many kids. I just wanted EPCOT to be left for the grown ups.

It does seem like there are many angry folks. Not sure why
Because Maelstrom was one of the first rides that got me on splash mountain, (IK it sounds stupid but I was scared of it as a child lol.) and it also is a classic IMO.

Yes really. Is the malestrom really that amazing? I think it gives the kids one more thing to do in Epcot.

There are a whole lot of things for kids to do in Epcot. Unless they are apart of this new smartphone infatuated gen... Not to sound rude but kids are getting more and more stupid, why not teach them something about an ACTUAL country and not some fictional land that is ruled by some boring blonde queen who has some ice powers.

I guess kids now a days would rather watch frozen on an ipad instead of riding a ride or talking to people... (I saw a dad do that with a 3 year old who wasn't tall enough for sorin') Also kids will ride Maelstrom and love it. I did and I went home and looked for books about Norway because I thought the culture was amazing. And guess what? I learned something..

So, a Frozen ride with NO elements of actual norwegian culture will teach kids? No, it won't.. But I guess it will melt their brains and keep them busy like those nifty tablets.. Wouldn't you say?

Maybe we should give the ride a chance before critique that harshly no?

*Clap clap clap* I agree with you. I just wish EPCOT still catered towards adults and children like it did in the early 80's to mid/early 90's.. Now it's just "Magic kingdom 2.0 with a golf ball in the front!!!!1111one"

The fact they had to REPLACE Maelstrom to put in a Frozen ride is lazy and greedy. You've got plenty of room to do the ride somewhere else and you'd have pretty universal happiness. (Pun intended?)

THIS 100%!!!

There is so much space in Hollywood Studios to make a Frozen attraction, I like the folksy nature of the Epcot World Showcase attractions.

Epcot needs more rides, but this is not the one they should do.

If it's a trackless? Sure I love trackless rides and they need more in the states. But if it's just Frozen? (Which I really do NOT like Frozen.) then I probably will ride it once to see it and never ride it again.

Also will Frozen still be popular in 2016? That's my question..
