Disney confirms 'Frozen' makeover coming to Epcot's Norway Pavilion

For me, I am all for absolutely anything that they do to Epcot theme park. I am all for anything at this point, since there is no more EPCOT Center therefore it's free for all what they want to do to Epcot theme park. Pixar-izate it, Frozen-izate it, Disney Channel-izate it, I don't care any more. Just leave the 80's bathrooms alone lol. My old EPCOT Center ain't coming back, so why not let the new generations enjoy their Epcot theme park. There's no use pining for the EPCOT Center of old, there are videos and pics out there to reminisce, it had it's time, we all had a ton of fun in there but now I am just willing to let them do what they want to it.

So, in other words: Just give up.

That attitude and vision is what brought the parks into existence right?

Epcot is coming closer to failing its' original meaning. I hope something will happen so we still get a great sense of what Epcot is really about

Sadly it's as good as dead. If there is a hint of any movie tie in, they will explot it anywhere. Epcot is not off limits for anything and this is a perfect example. If there is money to be made, nothing is sacred.

Hello all, I am new here although I have been the boards for quite a while now. I wanted to chime in as well. As much as the 8 year kid in me loves the original EPCOT, I think at some point they do need to decide on a theme, because to orlando678's point, they really are losing or lost what the original meaning was anyway. I remember the ride Horizon's (I believe this was the name, it is where Turtle Trek is now) and just being blown away as a kid that EPCOT was this futuristic land to escape to, but now that's just missing. Now kids will go there to "ride the frozen ride" and not really think anything more than that which is sad to me.

Horizons was actually where mission space is now. Turtle talk is where what was once part of sea base alpha.

I agree with you though, it is very sad that Disney world needs to cater to small children instead of giving them the option of more stimulating attractions.

Ah that's right, I still get a kick out of Spaceship Earth, even though I've been on that ride countless times, it's just classic EPCOT in my mind, and really one of the only "classic" attractions in that park.

Oh if only Epcot just could get its old meaning back with some modern technology like test track. They could have chosen to make it Cars but luckily they didn't go that far.

Sadly, they are not just catering to children. I know plenty of Adults who love Frozen and think these changes are a good Idea in Epcot.

Lol, I guess I meant a more discerning aduience.
Wife and I took our 8 year old niece out after school yesterday. She loves Frozen and is very excited about the new ride coming. She loves to play "name that ride". I play a soundtrack from a ride and she guesses it. After a few easy ones I played the Maelstrom narration in an attempt to stump her but she got it right away. Then she said, "why are they taking away a good ride and making it a Frozen ride?" We were so proud of her in that moment lol. She was more than likely repeating something she heard her parents say but either way it was hilarious to hear an 8 year old girl who loves Frozen say that. But since she is only 8 years old and loves WDW I would never tarnish the magic for her, so instead of going into some rant about the TWDC being cheap we just explained it was an old ride and its time for a new one to take its place.

She was not happy to hear about GMR either, lol. She explained "I know all the parts in the video and I like it!" We were cracking up. And oh yeah, we told her about the BAH and showed her pictures and she just shrugged it off. (again, so proud of her) She was more concerned about the workers not hurting themselves when they cut it up at night time. lol
