From the article:

(which will make use of dimensional sets, animatronic figures and film footage to recreate memorable scenes and characters from that Chris Buck/Jennifer Lee film)

Sounds like we can expect an animatronic or two and screens, lots of screens. Enjoy the scenes you have already seen on DVD on Frozen themed flatscreens and projections! Yay.

Just thinking off top of head here, but starting to worry about that dark lift tunnel, watch it be fully exposed with bright screen light just like the poor mistake they made in Mexico through the entrance tunnel. Disneys show quality just isnt what it use to be, not here anyway.

If this is truly how you feel then I'm afraid to say you're part of the problem. Throughout my life I never expected characters absolutely everywhere at Walt Disney World because they set a standard for themselves and I saw it. Character attractions were mostly restricted to Magic Kingdom, specifically in Fantasyland until Buzz, Stitch and Monsters moved into Tomorrowland but those don't bother me, much. Epcot was completely free from that. One of my favorite rides growing up was Spaceship Earth. It made me excited for the future and I understood it just fine without being talked down to (stupid Judi and her ABC's). I don't remember Horizons or World of Motion but after watching videos I more than likely would've enjoyed those just the same. Now we'll have Nemo, The Three Caballaros and Frozen all in a park that was never meant to have such things. If you don't see the problem with this then there is only one answer.

WDW as a whole and Epcot are different things to different people, the old saying "everybody does Disney differently" applies here IMO. What I enjoy you might not and what you enjoy I might not. Disney and Epcot have to try and find a balance between the two, well between ours and like 40 million other people and their likes and dislikes :) That can not be easy.

You can attribute my opinion to whatever you like, in truth it just differs from your on this subject and I would imagine many others. I would also imagine we share many of the same opinions, one being that WDW is a wonderful vacation destination.

Now how do your feel about chili, beans or no beans? And I swear if you vote beans we are going to have an ISSUE!!!!! :)

IMO the balance would be great as Magic Kingdom being about pure fantasy and Epcot being more based in reality with the only fantasy being actually tied into real culture, myths and legends as was originally intended. Also to your last question I don't eat Chili so I don't have an opinion of beans or no beans.

I don't like putting Frozen into Epcot, as I've said before. And if you think this is a bad decision for the company, that's a reasonable opinion, I would, although others may reasonably believe otherwise.

But to say Iger and Co. are inept in general is truly missing the forest for the trees. Iger and Co. made Frozen, Wall-E, the Incredibles, bought Marvel and Pixar, expanded the cruise line, fixed DCA, got back Oswald, made ESPN even more of a juggernaut, and has been CEO as the stock has gone up over 300% during a period when the S&P 500 has gone up around 35%. They didn't do everything right (John Carter, Stitch's Supersonic bust, closing WoL, virtually every decision at ABC), but inept?

Good points, as those are Iger's strong points, but Frozen's success masks a lot of their film and TV divisions utter failures. They needed Marvel, they needed it to look good, they needed it for the income, they needed it to mask a lot of very bad decisions and flops.

I think it's clear Iger doesn't care about the parks, doesn't get them, but enjoys the income that helped prop up his failures on other issues. If Iger would have let Pixar walk away without the acquisition he would have been replaced. There wasn't even a decision there, it had to happen.

He's made bad decisions, and good decisions. When it comes to the parks, especially WDW, I think he's lost. I would suspect the guy has never walked World Showcase. I'm not sure he could name every country, either. DCA was floundering and he HAD to make the expansion happen. And if it weren't for Lassetter it would have never been as successful as it was.

I would love to have Carsland at WDW. I would have a real problem if Carsland was placed in Animal Kingdom to help drum up attendance. Theme matters. Theme was Disney's strongest qualities and seperated it from everyone else. AK works because of the theme. Avatarland fits better than Carsland.

What would work better in AK Carsland or Mysterious Island? That's the difference.

I could live with that MK/Epcot split no problem. If done correctly it would be awesome.

But I am fine with a crossing of the parks as well. I see a Disney character in a Disney park and it does not offend my senses at all. I enjoy seeing them in fact, after being away all year (we go once per year) it's refreshing to see them.

And if you ever make chili..... no beans, that is the way God meant it to be I tell you!

I have no problems with characters as well. Snow White meeting in Germany, Mary Poppins in the UK, no problem there. It's actually a pretty cool way of teaching kids their country of origin (except Aladdin in Morocco). The problem comes when a whole attraction is based on them in a park where that doesn't belong. Frozen should be in Fantasyland and Nemo at Animal Kingdom. Donald should stick with Phillharmagic.

Jim Hill article on Frozen ride:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jim-h...-the_b_5835170.html?ncid=txtlnkusaolp00000592

He seems to be confirming that the ride system will not change and the changes to load/unload talked about here.
Thanks for the link... this part sounds so painful: "...the Imagineers have decided to close Walt Disney World's Maelstrom attraction on October 5th. And as soon as the last guest gets off of this boat ride (which is the centerpiece attraction of World Showcase's Norway pavilion), construction workers will then begin gutting this Epcot show building."

OUT OF THE WAY PEOPLE, WE'VE GOT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN!!!!

If this means they are the ones responsible for me losing my beloved 'All My Children'...then YES! :grumpy: lol

Same here and I have no problem with Aladdin in Morocco either. Yea, he lives in a fictional place too but I think he works here. Again, temporary. I have no problem what so ever with a Anna/Elsa meet and greet. whatever.

Can't remember if I posted this or started to and then erased. But the difference of the meet and greets is that they are temporary. They can be taken away whenever someone comes in and decides 'no characters at EPCOT'. But making a ride is permanent. Once it's done, there is no going back. And for fans of the ride and theme, that sucks. Especially when there are other areas on the parks that need it more.

Maelstrom, though in need of some updates, was not broken. Why fix what isn't broken? Again, I have no problem with a Frozen ride. But it doesn't belong in the Show case.

So...if the last guest refuses to get off the boat...Maelstrom remains Frozen-free!?

18 months to build a snowman? That's a new world record for slowness ;)
I know nothing about soaps, but if it was a company decision, Iger deserves some of the credit/blame. That is what it means to be CEO!

The only problem with Anna & Elsa in Norway is that we've already seen what happened there with the infamous 6 hour lines. Unless Disney was smart and had them meeting at both MK and Epcot in order to avoid everyone going to one place to meet them.

Screens can be Ok if used properly. See Universal.
