Disney confirms 'Frozen' makeover coming to Epcot's Norway Pavilion

Yep if you don;t leave Epcot fatter than your were when you went in your missing something :)

Epcot was a grand concept that was never realized, and that sucks cause I would love to live there!

Then in turned into a education themed park that was slowly made less relevant by society and technology. Now it's a theme park with some educational aspects still surviving but headed away from them slowly for better or for worse. I am fine with adding more Disney characters to the park, I like Disney characters and expect to see them freaking all over the place when I am at WDW. :)
And how, pray tell, is the theme of technological innovation and cultures of the world any less relevant now than it was in the 1980s?

18 months to build a snowman? That's a new world record for slowness ;)

"First rule of leadership: everything is your fault".

The only problem with Anna & Elsa in Norway is that we've already seen what happened there with the infamous 6 hour lines. Unless Disney was smart and had them meeting at both MK and Epcot in order to avoid everyone going to one place to meet them.

I was there for Easter and the lines were actually very well managed. They would cut the line off from girls to open up the pavilion and then start the line again over by front of Akurshus (where the street was) it was out of everyone's way. the only trouble is the people waiting for their meal ressies. there is no rhyme or reason to it so people are all walking around trying to get a glimpse inside to see Anna and Elsa. They really would just need to build a separate location for them. The pavilion was not built for that kind of crowd. I know people talk about the empty lot. It's a shame they can't use that space to build a larger Meet and greet/fun area or something.

And I agree, they can have all the other princesses in multiple spots. No reason these two can't be in both as well. Three if you count the studios as well. I was actually surprised that a meet and greet wasn't a part of the Frozen fun. They characters were there. just not meeting. very weird.

Anyway, there is a multitude of ways to handle the situation. But they aren't looking for reasonable. they just want fast and cheap.

Even if Star Wars Episode 7 is terrible, it will still pull in a crap ton of money. Popular IP + effects + $$$ (see also: Transformers, which are GOBAWFUL and yet still get sequels).
it will be interesting to see how it does internationally..tranformers does so well because of the international gross...star wars best international gross is 552 million...

The most that will happen is probably some families being a bit let down after waiting in a VERY long line for it. They will probably be expecting more than what it will be especially if they're first time visitors and have no idea how small the space it's going into is.

I have no doubt there will be people disappointed with the ride. Look at the comments here. I just think the general public will be pretty happy with it (because it's Frozen) even though it's short. It's gotta be better than waiting 3 hours for a meet and greet right? Look how many people are doing that.

If they don't address the low ride capacity issue (which is next to impossible to do keeping the same ride system) the lines will likely be huge. It will become a must have for FP+ similar to TSMM. I think in general TSMM gets pretty positive guest reviews despite a standby line that rarely is less than 60 minutes. Ironically, they are adding a theater to Soarin to fix the long lines there but adding something new that is destined to have lines that will be just as long or longer.

The budget for that third Soarin' theater, the rumored third TSMM track and this Frozen refurd would probably be enough for a brand new Frozen ride in a better location.

Technology is moving so fast a park such as Epcot can not keep up with it. People walking into Epcot have more tecnology in their car, home and pocket many times than Epcot can expose them too. There is not as much "wow" factor as there once was for guest at Epcot.

The world is a much "smaller" place today than it was in the 1980s. Cable packages of 250 TV channels 24 hours per day and the internet (including social media) have seen to that. Exposure to world cultures is much more prevalent in society than in the 1980s.

I grew up in the 80s, I know what I was exposed too and I know what my kids have been exposed to in the 2000s. It not the same world in that sense. If Epcot was to try and act as if it were they would suffer for it.

Why don't you expect Disney characters all over Disney films?

Actually I've heard a few of those who support characters in World Showcase saying they also hope that Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck are in the new Star Wars movie as CGI characters.

You never know, they might even get an appearance from Stitch. The more Disney films and rides that have Disney characters the better, apparently.

Just thinking off top of head here, but starting to worry about that dark lift tunnel, watch it be fully exposed with bright screen light just like the poor mistake they made in Mexico through the entrance tunnel. Disneys show quality just isnt what it use to be, not here anyway.

Oh yeah that's going to be the Spaceship Earth descent all over again isn't it?

Good old fashioned spite.

I'm hoping BH6 does well enough that Disney realizes they don't have to put all their eggs in one basket as far as new animation IP goes. For god's sake, Wreck-It Ralph and Tangled deserve better then what they have right now.
I really hope BH6 does well. That sneek peek during the Frozen special was really funny :hilarious:
