I'm a reptilian.
But are you okay with being mistaken for a human? ;)

[I'm picturing Men in Black right now.]

Oh my God. I joined this board in 2013, and I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that this is the most insipid and ridiculous thread that I have ever seen on here and that includes the Katiebug thread.
so was removing the phrase Ladies & gentlemen Boys & girls ,... yet again here we are 🤷‍♂️

Someone please tell Mickey that there is no reciprocity on my part when he calls me 'pal.'

And tell the world I don't find them 'dear' like they do me when they address their letters to me.
Well see now under definition #2 of pal:
  • used as a form of address, especially to indicate anger or aggression.
    "back off, pal"

Incidentally, I came across this NIH research paper about friendship. for the study the researchers asked groups of 6th graders to define friendship: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8128148/

"friendships are essentially mutual, not directional."
What is the relevance of posting this paper?

If/when CMs address a guest as “friend,” that doesn’t mean they’re trying to get you to be their friend.

If CMs started calling everyone “boss” (as in, ”How are you doing, boss?” or, “Sure thing, boss! One $9 churro coming right up!”), would you post research about workplace attitudes of American employees toward their bosses?

What freaking difference does it make??? These are the problems you have to worry about? Consider yourself lucky.

EXACTLY! So perfectly and succinctly said. Let's use it more often! For instance:

"I'm offended by hearing "ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls" at Disneyland!"

- What freaking difference does it make??? These are the problems you have to worry about? Consider yourself lucky.

"I'm offended because I was innocently addressed as "sir" by a well-meaning cast member, but I'm actually a 6'2" biological male and I don't like being called that!"

- What freaking difference does it make??? These are the problems you have to worry about? Consider yourself lucky.

It is the perfect response to these ridiculous claims of "offense" by the miniscule amount of guests that have these "issues".

Thanks for posting!!!

I doubt anyone was ever actually offended. It seems more likely that Disney made the changes to be more inclusive. It’s always been a progressive company. I’m not sure why people are so certain they’re making changes based on particular cases of people being offended.

Exactly. People are making up the “offended” part. Disney is simply doing what many companies have done for decades: evolving with the times.

Thats the exact question i have what freaking difference does it make!!!!!! Worry about?!? Absolutely not but i find it comical that when someone has a difference of opinion on something comments like this are standard…. Literally Ladies and Gentleman. Boys & Girls covers everyone. So if it doesnt make a difference why the uproar and basically “bullied” a company into removing it…

You know ZERO about me and my problems so dont act like you do….

You just dont like someone like myself calling out this bs agenda thats been going on and i can continue but things ive mentioned before have been removed and ive been banned from other chats so ill leave my comments at this.
Who are these people/entities that “bullied” Disney into implementing this change? Where did they bully Disney? Surely this would have been on the news?

There was no bullying. Disney made this decision on their own.

Not everyone
I'm old and quite possibly out of touch, but, other than Gentlemen instead of Gentleman, what other options are there. Every human has to have some identity and if there are some, there are so few that they are not a force to be reconned with. So, if a person were to identify themselves as a bucket of rocks they need to wear a sign saying that because I have no other way of knowing otherwise. The burden of their protection against mistaken identity is on them, not the rest of us.

Exactly but let everyone continue to get offended by the phrase
