Before or after people stay there?
It depends if you prebook a fast pass for an expedited incubation period

Just like the park, in person, yes, the hotel is gorgeous! The Disneyland Hotel in Paris is absolutely stunning. I've been there myself, but you can tell it even in pictures. It's even more beautiful with the water feature and landscaping in the frame. Which is how it looks while approaching. But the hotel is beautiful regardless. A beautiful entryway into a beautiful Disney park.
What I think they're going for:Total agreement. AKL and WL are just towers etc too, but it is the "coating" they get that gives them a little flourish and theme. At least try to not have it look like a modern hospital

If they put that Much detail into it...my opinion completely changes...What I think they're going for:
Caribbean and Coronado have always sucked. Their theming basically breaks down to paint color. If they put that Much detail into it...my opinion completely changes...
But did you see recent pictures of the Caribbean and Coronado Hilton’s??
They’re awful. Like borderline I-drive appropriate.
And their room door opens every time since they are not using a cell phone to open it or magic band that was somehow deactivated

Disney has let me down in a number of categories (looking at you, Be Our Guest and Flights of Wonder), but they've never missed on a deluxe resort in my eyes.
Iger built Aulani, arguably the crown jewel of Parks & Resorts. You’re forgetting that iger has never built one...the last broke ground in 1999

I also don't think Iger personally weighs in on minor architectural details.

Again, their depiction and not mine. TWDC can change that with the finished product. Until then....Point taken, but a short sighted comparison. This DVC property will be no Wilderness Lodge thematically but it will be much nicer then a SHS and it also affords views/transportation to MK across the lake.
Aulani is half (less than half?) DVC, but that's beside the point. That is DVC...not at WDW...and was titanically/massively overbusget because they let the town fool do it.
And they haven’t been able to sell it.
That has no bearing on Orlando whatsoever...where management defenders conveniently forget that he has done nothing for the traditional lodging...not a thing. All low overhead timeshares and conversion experiments
Indeed. They mere notion that they feel it necessary to mention this signifies a conscious problem and/or conscious denial in my personal opinion.

You're changing arguments. We were talking creativity, not the economics of lodging. Aulani is a creative success regardless of whether you think it was an efficient deployment of capital investment. Art of Animation is a lodging success despite its lack of creativity. They've had some wins on both fronts, though I'll concede nothing on the scale of what I consider to be the holy trinity of Disney resorts, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and the Grand Californian.

Can't we just merge this thread with the Project 89 thread? That way I can just go to one location to read @Sirwalterraleigh 's negative opinion on this matter!
LOL! Good to see you carried your hate for Rohde from the DIS over to here. But I'll just leave it at that.
