Disney Announces New Nature Resort on Bay Lake

The Disneyland Hotel in Paris is absolutely stunning. I've been there myself, but you can tell it even in pictures. It's even more beautiful with the water feature and landscaping in the frame. Which is how it looks while approaching. But the hotel is beautiful regardless. A beautiful entryway into a beautiful Disney park.

Just like the park, in person, yes, the hotel is gorgeous!

Paris is fantastic....the last complete park effort they ever did. They never liked the bills to complete a concept after.

They’ll also never do it again.

What I think they're going for:

If they put that Much detail into it...my opinion completely changes...

But did you see recent pictures of the Caribbean and Coronado Hilton’s??

They’re awful. Like borderline I-drive appropriate.

Caribbean and Coronado have always sucked. Their theming basically breaks down to paint color.

Disney has let me down in a number of categories (looking at you, Be Our Guest and Flights of Wonder), but they've never missed on a deluxe resort in my eyes.

And their room door opens every time since they are not using a cell phone to open it or magic band that was somehow deactivated

I've stayed at a Hilton where the plastic card got deactivated but the mobile phone app worked fine, same with a Marriott.
Hotel room keys have issues sometimes, its not exclusively a Disney thing.

You’re forgetting that iger has never built one...the last broke ground in 1999

Iger built Aulani, arguably the crown jewel of Parks & Resorts.

I also don't think Iger personally weighs in on minor architectural details.

That is DVC...not at WDW...and was titanically/massively overbusget because they let the town fool do it.

And they haven’t been able to sell it.

That has no bearing on Orlando whatsoever...where management defenders conveniently forget that he has done nothing for the traditional lodging...not a thing. All low overhead timeshares and conversion experiments

Point taken, but a short sighted comparison. This DVC property will be no Wilderness Lodge thematically but it will be much nicer then a SHS and it also affords views/transportation to MK across the lake.
Again, their depiction and not mine. TWDC can change that with the finished product. Until then....

Aulani is half (less than half?) DVC, but that's beside the point.

You're changing arguments. We were talking creativity, not the economics of lodging. Aulani is a creative success regardless of whether you think it was an efficient deployment of capital investment. Art of Animation is a lodging success despite its lack of creativity. They've had some wins on both fronts, though I'll concede nothing on the scale of what I consider to be the holy trinity of Disney resorts, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and the Grand Californian.

Another hotel project that is a reflection on the current leadership - Bland, soulless, and unimaginative. If the success criteria is to push for and approve such things, Chapek and his ilk are batting 1.000... well, maybe .800, the refurb of the Caribbean is pretty nice looking from the pictures posted on the main WDWMagic page. It's like they meet and say, "Where else can we build something where we can invoke nostalgia but not give a hoot about that theming nonsense from... what's his name? Whoever that old dead guy was, I don't really care."

The Disneyland Hotel at DLP is really well done, as is the feel of the park itself. They seem to be the last vestiges of a time where TWDC cared about quality and theme and charm. The fact that those are 25 years old speaks volumes.

They are still offering deals on aulani 10 years later...because they are still selling it. That is not a strategic success. And the DVC head was fired because of what a disaster the costs/pricing structure were.

And the current management had absolutely nothing to do with your Holy trinity...not a thing. All those people are gone.

LOL! Good to see you carried your hate for Rohde from the DIS over to here. But I'll just leave it at that.

Nothing I ever said about him was ever unfair or incorrect.

His disregard for intelligent management/budgets contributed greatly to the attractions crisis mode we are in now...such as a 130 minute wait for an off the shelf intamin coaster out in the open that looks like a dog.

It’s a puzzle...many pieces
