You are under the mistaken philosophy that there is logic involved with his thought process.Only to those that are using them to justify their decisions, Jimmy! Some can be trusted due to the fact that even a broken clock is right twice a day, but many more are interpreted in a manner that will make their particular stand seem legit. Your numbers show that there are more visitors at WDW then Universal. Well...dah! Of course it has. WDW has a reputation that hasn't yet completely gone down the toilet and it is bigger and better known by more generations, therefore it is the winner in numbers. What the numbers don't tell you is if one is entertaining better then the other. Disney does a good job, but, lately Uni has been raising the bar quicker then Disney. If you recall it used to be Disney's reputation. They were the one raising the bar. I might be inclined to agree that Disney has not lowered their particular bar by very much, but Uni has raised it a little better recently. That doesn't mean that Uni overall is better then Disney, it just shows that like the old Hertz/Avis ads used to say...they are number 2 and they are trying harder. They may never completely catch up because they have to expand in a huge manner to do so. But, after 30 years of visiting Disney, I'd say that Uni is in the game, like it or not. Neither one is likely to fail catastrophically, but Disney's dominance and market share is compromised.
It's just that being in denial of that fact, will not change anything and being an entrenched fan of Disney is no crime, but, when you consider the fact that if Uni improves it will not put Disney out of business, then the entire discussion is useless. You like Disney and you don't like Universal, some like Universal and they don't like Disney, others like them both (me), some see one as slightly better then the other. What it all boils down to is so what? Like what you like, let them like what they like and that bit of advice applies to everyone.
I rock, I know.
It brings a tear to my eye when I think about how fearless I can be when it comes to my opinions about a vacation destination. Iam truly humbled.
Jimmy Thick- <-----Trendsetter, rebel, titan.
I checked out of this one for a while. Are Disney and Universal still on different paths? Have we decided who is going bankrupt first? Sorta on topic of the stock debate, Yahoo Finance named DIS stock of the year or something like that. I'm too lazy to pull the link but if you go to Yahoo finance you can see it. Nothing Earth shattering or new to report, but interesting.
Jimmy Thick - ignoring ratings from dates when TV shows weren't on holiday break.
Those who listened to Thick and bought some Disney stock when he said now is right can now buy into Poly DVC instead of moan about it on the internetz.Brilliant observation by Yahoo, someone has been reading my posts here, I just couldn't agree more.
Jimmy Thick- Wait a second, no mention of Comcast? What about the Potter area? * Jimmy chuckles *
