I didn’t know they were making a live action adaptation of wall-e!Confirmed! Disney’s next live-action film tentpole: Eve. (Played by Eddie Murphy.)
Yes maybe the rise of streaming helped accelerate that situation as it did with a lot things that changed with the theatrical space.I can't say I follow RomComs but have they ever been earth shattering smash hits? You made a romcom for a very modest budget, released it to theaters where it would maybe make it's budget back. Then the death of rental and rise of streaming killed what the real play for romcoms was. Now you don't get the rental income, or the home video cash, then the premium network money that leads to your regular network syndication cash. Romcoms were never going to sell a streaming service and they aren't making bank at the box office. So what is the insensitive for studios to make them? Of course that's just what I saw with the situation.
I hear Snow White just came out.Co-written by Greta Gerwig of Barbie fame.
I thought you said it wasn’t that bad. They should really start promoting their films like this:

Because it's really offensive that they still use the "Disney" name.
I have not checked grosses… but Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally, and Grease all feel like they may have been hits in their day… at least that is what immediately pops in my headI can't say I follow RomComs but have they ever been earth shattering smash hits? Plus I would think a film such as this might do better on a Saturday afternoon with the family audienceInteresting as that means Disney predicts that Sat and Sun will only get as much as Fri or less. That hasn't traditionally been the case especially Sat, so I think Disney is being conservative here. We'll see how it turns out.
Weren’t you just accusing other posters of not being “Disney fans” because they are too critical? It wasn't written by Gerta Gerwig, she's not in the credits.
The movie is trash. Disney hasn't made a good film after Moana, the original not the sequel.
It's not a Disney film, it's a Bob Iger film.Weren’t you just accusing other posters of not being “Disney fans” because they are too critical?
Oh this is what we’re doing now ?It's not a Disney film, it's a Bob Iger film.
If people are going to gang up on me, then sure why not?Oh this is what we’re doing now ?
No one is trashing it. It’s a great film.So weird how many "Disney fans" are just okay trashing the film that literally made Disney what it is just to prop up a lousy remake that will be completely forgotten in a few months.
It actually is okay, although it sounds like most people on this site think very badly of him.If people are going to gang up on me, then sure why not?
It's okay to be Bob Iger fans.
There are lots of people who dislike iger for valid reasons but stuff like this comes off as really petty. It actually is okay, although it sounds like most people on this site think very badly of him.
Well, you go ahead and enjoy being a Disney snob, and I’ll enjoy Disney movies! None of this rises to a level of incredible importance. It wasn't written by Gerta Gerwig, she's not in the credits.

Oh, come on. Who was it saying the reactions were not disproportionate? This surely is. You’re mad about a movie. They should really start promoting their films like this:

I can’t say what I want to say to this. It's not a Disney film, it's a Bob Iger film.
