I did not. And I didn’t realize the Fantastic 4 were involved in Strange 2. Thought maybe he was just in a previous iteration before I knew who he was or something

Did Krasinski bow out or Disney just go another direction? I figure Pascal is probably a bigger name now after Mando and the Last of Us
Krasinski was just cast for MoM as an alternate version of Reed Richards from another universe (Earth-838 if I remember correctly) in a one-off cameo. He wasn't being cast as the main Reed Richards in the MCU.

I would say that both Krasinski and Pascal are the same in terms of "names".

I’d actually give the edge in terms of “names” to Pedro. They have both had varying degrees of degrees of box office success. Pedro’s biggest films are Equalizer 2 (co-star?), Kingsman Golden Circle (ensemble) and Gladiator II (costar). He’s also been top billed in a bunch of turkeys.

Krasinski has 13 Hours and A Quiet Place? Also a lot of turkeys.

I wouldn't hold your breath, I'm still waiting for the remakes of The Apple Dumpling Gang and The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes.

They’re already perfect, no need to remake them.

I wonder how FF would have done at the height of Pedro (after The Last Of Us season one.) People hadn’t had a chance to turn on him yet.

As someone who doesn’t have HBO I had no clue who he was prior to season 2 of Mando, season 1 he was simply a faceless voice, I think Hollywood wants him to be a star far more than audiences do. He’s a fine actor but he hasn’t done anything (yet) that sets him apart from the hundreds of other fine actors in various shows.

Maybe it’s a sign of the times, or a sign I’m getting old, but aside from a few standouts like Ryan Reynolds, Tom Holland, etc it doesn’t seem like we are getting big name younger stars to replace the aging older ones like Cruise, Depp, the Rock, etc.

The fact so many actors are only known to people with specific subscriptions seems to have fragmented the ability to be super well known to a huge cross section of the audience.

You should watch the episode if SNL he hosted….. IMO…. Of was the best episode I had seen in years… and I am someone who can admit the show is not good more than it is

Also Spoilers down further…. As I am not sure how to add a tag:

I am sure lots of people disagree with that looking at the ratings of the Last of Us after he was killed off

If there is an edge its only a slight one then, because both have basically been character actors who've had similar careers in my opinion. Pascal is just the "now" actor, as Krasinski had been focusing on the behind the camera stuff.

Also Krasinski was in Monsters University, plus is married to Emily Blunt, so has a deeper connection to Disney. ;)

I mean that last factoid alone gives him an advantage.

A better Q is which one is a more iconic TV actor. The Office lead vs GoT role/Mando(mostly voice)/TLOU. That’s a close call

If we’re going based on eyeballs, I think The Office has had more viewers than most of Pascal’s stuff including Mando. As not only did it have good ratings during its initially run, but it’s seen a resurgence in both reruns and streaming.

Yeah. Pascal seems to be everywhere lately - movies, TV, talk shows. I see articles about him regularly and even hear him talked about on sports shows. Of course Disney cast him before he was the current "it guy." But I imagine they thought his current status was going to work in their favor.

And it did, to a fault.

My pitch; What if dinosaurs that aren't wimps made out of playdough?

The broad premise is just the first step. They need to actually follow up with writing that knows who it's meant to appeal to. I don't even think it needs to be good to succeed. Just focused on what that demo is likely to want.

With current Disney I think that's going to be a problem, unless they'be flushed out a lot of people.
