You're assuming that disney isn't flaming marvel out/beating it into the ground...which by most appearances they are

So, you very clearly do not know what you are talking about. You take the usual Disney-hate talking points and spew them out like some Jedi Master in Fake News. There is zero "appearance" that the Marvel Movies are flaming out. Here is the proof, just look at gross box office for each movie over time. Not only has it grown, but their sequels keep doing better box office than their predecessors, another blow to a different movie myth showing just how well they're doing.

IOW, Marvel movies keep doing better, both in gross and critical acclaim. Every sign points to that. Declarations to the contrary is idiocy.

If they are gonna shove it in, don't do it now, at least wait until Stage 4.

My feeling is that most of the Marvel projects from Disney that are coming out in the next 3-5 years are pretty far in the progress and if you do see any X-Men or Fantastic 4 characters put into any of them, they will just be quick cameos (not unlike Spiderman in Civil War) or cut-scenes during the credits implying a further involvement in the future. The X-Men and the Avengers interacted A LOT in the comics, so it certainly would not be unusual (at least within the comic book cannon) to have them interacting on screen as well.

I think that's a foregone conclusion. Avengers 4 is the last film of Stage 3 and has been filming for months already; this deal is months from being finalized (if at all). We won't see the X-Men cross over in a big way until Stage 4.

Yeah, I know...I'm just kind of bitter because it's going to be hard to incorporate them in now. At least there's a possibility of getting House of M now (although judging by what happens to Vision and Wanda from the Infinity War trailer, I kind of just want them to be happy in domestic bliss after Avengers 4 tbh). It's just...they've had mutants in the MCU, just not by name. It's probably gonna feel really shoved in unless they do a reset. Maybe mutants are in an alternate universe and that's how they'll tell the story.

But iger is as good as gone and they know it...even if he doesn't want to go...

He is following the SAME path as Eisner...extensions upon extensions and bloating the company...

Roy pretty easily oustered him with a proxy battle that wasn't that hard to ramp up. Murdochs have 25% of the stock to bank now already...it wouldn't be that hard to manipulate.

All they need is the trump recession and a bully pulpit. The only thing that will prevent that from happening may be government regime change in 3 years...

Iger isn't following the Axum of "keep your enemies closer" it seems...

Again, you don't know what you are talking about.

It's been corrected several times in this thread that the Murdochs will own an estimated 3-5% of Disney stocks while previous Fox shareholders will own the remainder of the 25%. Do you not read? Or is your blind anti-Disney bias make you only see the bad news and none of the good news?

Do you really think the Murdochs can convince all those previous Fox shareholders to make them their proxies? Do you really think Fox shareholders hold those shares because they are Murdoch loyalists? Would you think everyone who had Disney shares are, in the same way, Iger loyalists? That's not how shareholding works.

So, here you are spewing the usual anti-Iger rants, ignoring facts that don't conform to your hate, and spewing Fake News. You've gone off on Avatar, claimed falsely there is Marvel fatigue, climbed aboard the false narrative of a Murdoch takeover. You are no better than @ford91exploder.

Correct about Disneyland and marvel...they have announced a marvel
Land at DCA...have they not?

They have not.

Ahhh...so it's a "confirmed, greenlit, insider rumor" then?

You don't know? I thought you knew more about Disney then we would think?

You're the one that just passed off a insider rumor as fact. And when called out on it, decided to make fun of insider rumors proclaimed as fact. Pick a side and stick to it.

I know you said this as a joke, but I'm actually legitimately concerned that those R-rated properties like Deadpool will make their way into Disney parks.

me too I'm joking....Disney won't be.

maybe people will realize they don't give a Damn and only want to print cash.

I honestly don't care...? I know I should as a Disney fan and even as a MCU fan but...I'm actually kind of worried they're gonna shove F4 and X-Men in just because they can and it will sell tickets. The MCU has come so far without them saying "mutant," don't ruin it. It would feel clunky at this point. If they are gonna shove it in, don't do it now, at least wait until Stage 4.
I have been impressed with disney's MCU and I am hopeful they wont rush it. They can do some great things in cross overs with the X-Men (including one of my fave's Wolverine) and maybe we can see a good f4 franchise.

Now, if we can get punisher past netflix, and onto the MCU, I will be a happy man

I doubt it. If there's anything Disney is protective of nowadays, it's their "family friendly" image. The outcry from moms alone would be enormous. T-shirts and merch, though...potentially.

My god...you're really going to attack in this manner?

Two things:
1. First...you need not attack. Opinions vary. I get it...you don't like new kids on your playground. But it should be breaking on even you by now that I'm not a new kid. I see you're a peer worshiper to the rumor purveyors here and I can respect that...I'm watching them too. But the abrasive isn't necessary.

2. So the fact you can google box office figures...bold move, by the way...makes no intellectual prediction on your part. That's a historical record.

You missed my contention...I apologize. Marvel has been a fantastic hit for awhile for disney. I like most of them as well. But what guarantee do we have that it won't tire?

We are on captain America 3, Thor 3, iron man 3, avengers 3, guardians 2 and they're now kinda being forced to move off those core characters to the antman and black panthers of the world...
Why is that? It's not just expansion. It's that history has shown us these things stale. We have the batman history, the superman history, the xmen history and the spiderman history to look to...there will be some ebb and flow.

Why do you think these are bulletproof? Nothing suggests that.

I think the marvel franchises are at a delicate point...Thor is supposedly good...avengers 2 was not and that's up...black panther is gonna be a tougher sell...we'll see how they handle spiderman.

All reasonable takes...you don't have to agree.

And you OBVIOUSLY can't pull of the snark. I think you have said "you obviously don't know what you're talking about..." at least 4 times to me and this I can tell you...

I know my own opinions...and while quirky they are pondered and reasonably formed...

And your defense of inappropriate snide is that you refer to what other people say/tell you...come on, I don't want battles but if you chose them (and you are), you have to bring something of your own.

This is opinion...at the end of the day...with some facts mixed in. You can ignore me and that's 100% fine/reasonable. But I hate to tell you this isn't the place where disney power brokers lurk to clue you in... nobody in here has a swipe card to the boardroom in Burbank.

And you said "fake news"...I mean - that says it all right there. This is an OPINION forum where you have to sign up with your email...not the federal reserve board meeting. Seriously.

how do you plan to mix adult oriented super hero's with ones that can't even sware?

nah they care about what image makes the most money. currently it's the family friendly image. that can change at any moment.

I actually hope they take over xmen...I don't like what fox is doing at all and I liked the ratner
Approach...it was closer to what disney is doing now.

Sansa as Jean grey is just...um...no...

Doesn't work.

Disney would probably have more leverage now, but on the flip side I fully expect Disney to go all in on X-Men and Fantastic four in the coming year, which makes Universal's license to use those characters even more valuable to them.
Great observation. There is much more value for both sides now than there ever was before.

You must be aware of some completely different films than what everyone else is watching. Marvel Studios has not only continued their high quality with their films, they've arguably been at their top of their game with recent releases.
