Princess are over rated be a Pirate....

  • Aspiring pirates joining the League must be 3 years of age or older. Adults are also welcome.

  • Children must be accompanied by an adult (18 years of age or older) for the entire experience.

  • Please bring your own brush or comb unless you have a hairstyle that doesn’t accommodate one (e.g., braids) and arrive with clean, bare nails if you are having nail polish applied. Guests must also be free of scalp or skin conditions for at least 30 days prior.

  • Please check in 15 minutes before the start of your experience. The Pirates League is located between the entrance of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and the Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar.

Exactly ... DD# 2 decided she and niece who is DGD would do this and so they did. Big waste of money and time IMO, when for what she spent she could have joined me at the Mandara Spa...Pirates League is where disney still allows families to play act and dress up together

It is not about the attention from others. It is about bout my wife and and three girls having a morning together, getting dolled up for the day and then having a disney meal in the world. Wife no costume, but the others under 14 yes. no honey boo boo or whatever it is called. Just a fun day. Funny to see this thread explode, but it was about the changes for a family who does not exploit, just wants to have fun. Steve, close it pelase.

It's not about pedicures or nails, it is about spending time with your girls just getting your hair done. That is it! When did being a kid become such an offense?

Might I suggest that maybe given the new age restrictions that maybe since it is about "spending time together" that they keep that tradition and make new memories doing something different? High Tea at the GF all dressed up?

Sometimes you have to change... and grow and move on... I appreciate your love for tradition. But sometimes things happen for reasons we do not understand..... Have a good night. I apologize for the direction this may have went... me personally I was just kidding. Have a good night @mickey20081 and good luck to you! :)

ok, do not hate me. I just do not get the changes of recent. It has worked for 30 years plus. It worked before, why not now? Why can a mom and her daughter not get there hair done together.? It is that simple. The happiness of mother daughter time.
Which can again be done at an outside salon... Not to mention there are plenty of other ways that your girls can have happy mother daughter time. Disney has a lot of alternatives. My mom and I went out one afternoon when I was young and searched for characters to meet. That's all we did that afternoon and we absolutely had a blast. Was awesome mother daughter time.

And again, extra slots can be left for other children, again I'm going to say it...children.

Also, don't hate ya. No one does. And I do understand being upset at a change. I get that. But I think you are just overreacting. Sorry. And what jls suggested is a nice alternative.

Oh it's okay, nobody is picking on you  and it's nice that you want to treat the females in your family to some "primp&pampering" time :p but it isn't going to be at BBB:( and there are alot of valid reasons and a few hilarious reasons ;) on why not presented in the thread. I think you should check out the Mandara Spa at the Dolphin. :) They have a day spa and salon and all the ladies in your family could have a nice couple of hours together getting mani/pedi's and makeup and updo's.

I think the bigger issue is how many times do us Disney fans hear this in the real world. Disney for children. I really don't know anything thing else that an adult is limited from doing at Disney.
I get what you are saying. Sort of. But I think it sounds a bit oversensitive. One age restriction in one place somehow suddenly means adults cant be kid like in WDW? Somehow reinforces that it's only for literal children? I find that seriously silly. There are plenty of other ways for adults to get to be a kid. If not being able to get a princess do at WDW, when it could be done at your everyday salon throws you all into a tizzy... well then I guess Id say you need to look at the bigger picture of what you experience as a whole in Disney.

And, again, it's limited slots. In this case, I'd rather every little girl who wants to be a princess get to do it before any 40 year olds. They are little. They arent going to see that Disney magic the same way forever, with total innocence. Them getting to be a princess one day matters more. BBB is something designed for children. Though they let older people do it originally, it is very clear it was designed for young children from the start. Not everything in the world has to be for absolutely everyone. If there were tons of BBBs every two feet the way merchandise stores are, sure, let adults do it. But I think in this one case, it is perfectly fine there is an age restriction. And it's not like adults can't still enjoy watching their girls light up and having a individual special moment.

Believe it or not Disney is alreay tailoring to little ones. This is just the first official policy that proves their desire. Pull at the kids strings to get thier parents to open their wallets. That is the bigger picture. Do it in small doses so not to make it too noticable.

Sigh. As a whole, yes they seem to like the toddler age set a lot. I've actually written about this is other posts. And it's annoying. But come on, it's limited to two locations, was always designed for five year olds, and of all things, using the BBB's age restriction as somehow a sign that Disney is only for kids, when you yourself pointed out it is the only thing you can think of with an age restriction on it... If they start doing this with tons and tons of things, we can talk. but again, you could only think of one thing, which I doubt has limited your Disney experience. Mean you can go enjoy Casey's Splash with Super Fun Bacteria and Fungus if you so choose. But when your 5 year old daughter can't get in because grandma jones needed to look like a princess, have fun with that I guess.
