Give me a reason why it was allowed before, and not now? That simple. If we got ressies before. What prompted the change? A good explanation will end this thread.
Someone already said it. Parents couldn't get reservations for their small children. Is it more important at Disney World for a 4 year old or a 40 year old to have their hair done and get to meet the fairy godmother? Who is going to love it more? Do 40 year old women need a "special moment" in a boutique designed for young children or can they get it elsewhere? Disney offers plenty for adults including a full service spa. That among other reasons. But I really think this one should be sufficient.

Princess are over rated be a Pirate....

  • Aspiring pirates joining the League must be 3 years of age or older. Adults are also welcome.

  • Children must be accompanied by an adult (18 years of age or older) for the entire experience.

  • Please bring your own brush or comb unless you have a hairstyle that doesn’t accommodate one (e.g., braids) and arrive with clean, bare nails if you are having nail polish applied. Guests must also be free of scalp or skin conditions for at least 30 days prior.

  • Please check in 15 minutes before the start of your experience. The Pirates League is located between the entrance of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and the Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar.

Why is it ok to not honor dress codes at Signature restaraunts, but not be with your family getting your hair done when they cant even fill reservations? I know for sure I spend a lot of money for that, and all things, only to see wife beaters around the parks. Hey, Don't take my money, But let's see the slobs around the parks. Trying to prove a point. One, BBB is not filled at both locals, and two, dress codes are not adhered to. So why can I not spend money and look presentable at the same time?

Afterwards You can wear a shirt that says,

I don't wanna be a pirate but Disney wouldn't let me be a Princess.

Dress codes as opposed to defining experiences by age? Work that straw man.....

And I knew the argument wouldn't be over.

Personally, I have no problem with adults doing BBB. Whether you want to do it just for you or you want to do it as a mother daughter type thing...I think it can be fun. In fact, had our schedule permitted, I would have done it with DD6 back in 2011 (before the rule change). I know not everyone may care for it, but ya know what? I'm not on vacation to please anyone else. We're on vacay to have fun ... and if doing a mommy/daughter time at BBB is fun to us - so be it. I remember back when I suggested it, someone had the nerve to suggest that any adult even considering it should be slapped. Now maybe some of you would agree, but sometimes I think people need to stop being so uptight and judgemental about these things.

Case in point- we were in AK back in November and there was a line full of kids waiting for face painting. The reason for the wait- a bunch of college age kids and their 50s-70s something age family members were all doing family fun face painting. You could have used the same argument...i.e. adults shouldn't be allowed b/c they are taking up slots that really should be used for kids. Well, I thought it was awesome...even though it was a big reason for our wait... I LOVE seeing people of all ages really getting into the spirit of things and having fun like this.
