Disney After Hours BOO BASH

Do people have links to trip reports where villains was sold out? Don't think it'll change our strategy (if I can get tickets) but good to set expectations about what we can and can't get on.
Here is when I did it...

I did 6 attractions for the party hours of 10-1am, and did 3 attractions plus fireworks for the 7-10pm period.

This event runs for 3hrs from 9-12... so you actually get 1 less hour pre-party compared to the Villians event.

The park will not close early. Day guests will be allowed to enter ride queues up until a minute before official park closing time.
That is how the After Hours operated initially, but eventually

Not sure if it will happen this August/September/October......

After issues with having the Parks open until the 9:00 "Party Opening", Disney finally adjusted and the Parks DID close at 6:00 in late 2019 for MNSSHP, MVMCP, as well as the After Hours. Each Party allowed entrance to ticket holders at 7:00, which is why the host Park(s) closed at 6:00. The Cast members did a great job of herding those without the wristbands out of the Park(s). By 7:30 or so, most non-wristband peeps were gone. Those who lingered could shop, but again, the Cast members were pretty militant on checking wristbands for the rides. Some were able to stay for the shows and parades, but it was tough to ride the rides....

Touring Plans historical calendar shows December 8, 2019 having a Christmas party, which would make more sense.

Regarding your first point, there were sold out after hours events, so we do know what folks experienced with max crowds. According to reports on the ground, sold out Villains events felt more crowded than regular after hours, but were still very manageable with walk-ons for most rides. The notable exceptions were the rides with special overlays and 7dmt.

Yes, but we don't know if they are using the same cap as they used for those events. Plus, Villains Night had stage shows pulling some of the crowds away from the rides.

I would expect they’ll sell this toward the bigger holiday event attendance range If there is demand...

definitely something to watch/buyer beware. One hour waits at 11:30 at night for $199 a head is ballsy even for Slap-o

You seem to be using "after hours" and party terminology interchangeably. Are you talking about having attended an "after hours" (DAH) event on 12/8/2019, or another MVMCP? I assume the latter, as there were no DAH on that day -- there were DAH at MK on other dates in your calendar, such as 12/9/2019, when the MK was open until 10pm (with DAH from 10pm-1am).

My understanding is that there are exponentially more people at a party than a DAH event, so having to shut the park down early to make room for all of them would seem to be more necessary for a party than DAH, and it appears that even when it was closing down MK early for parties in the past, Disney didn't do so for DAH. In sum, I don't expect the MK hours for regular guests will be reduced for Boo Bash at all.

I think this is more of an F up in planning and getting their systems back online than evil genius
I don't...simply because free dining has been just as much of a clusterfudge since around 2014. Hours spent on hold, disconnections, etc. etc.

It's not evil genius, the artificial scarcity is a byproduct of their horrible systems.

ETA: They enjoy the accident that benefits them...and just don't give a dam about fixing the issue.

They frequently sold out, here is some of the history.
Good info...

so at quick glance they sold out on a scatter plot that included the mid February school break calendar...the March school beak calendar...the April school break calendar...

no pattern.

did they sell them out in august 23rd? Or January 19th? Or November 16th? Or September 24th?

that’s what I’m trying to glean from the data.
